  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Catcher For My Thoughts

Blog details

It's interesting that I have thoughts to jot down.. but when it comes to thinking of a title for my blog.. my mind goes blank. That apparently is not a priority.

Romans 7-8 describe the child of God who desires to please the Lord, but their lower nature patterns are not yet trained to behave in righteousness and holiness. Jesus on the cross bore the punishment for our sins so that when we sin there is God's grace for us to boldly approach the throne whereby we receive mercy and help in time of need.
Jesus is our advocate before the Father to plead our case when we repent for wrongs done because of the unrenewed mind and untrained body.

In the Lord's prayer are the words "forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
In our repentance we are cleansed of all unrighteousness.

In the old testament their repentance was with sackcloth and ashes.. making a great sorrow for sin. Not to belittle that but their position with God was as servants, while we under grace have a position of sonship. So God's dealing with us is not harsh but as well beloved children. His correction to us, through Christ Jesus, is gentle.

Therefore there's no condemnation put upon us. For His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

How great a love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called His children, and so we are.. through Christ Jesus who so loved us, and prayed to the Father that He love us as much as He loves Jesus.
