Now I'll be the first to admit that I've done some stupid stuff during my life, but I think I need to highlight the two most recent because me during exam period is just...
.
Two weeks ago I was sitting in my car doing some last minute study before my extension history exam when my friend came over to bounce some questions around. We got to talking when I realised that the exam was meant to start in a few minutes, so I locked my car (I lock it from inside without the key) and walked towards the exam room. Half-way there, and I remember that I'd left my keys in the ignition so that I didn't lose them...only to lock them in my car instead!
Stupid thing number 2 happened today. I took half the day off work so that I could do some more revising for another exam I had this afternoon...or thought I had this afternoon. After driving the half hour to the exam, I pulled up to a deserted building and wondered why everything was so quiet. In checking my registration letter again, I read that while I have the right time, I'm two days early for my exam
.
Granted I've probably done a lot worse than those two times, but I'm forced to take a step back and laugh. By golly I make some down-right silly mistakes, but I think in learning to laugh at myself instead of beating myself up over it, I've learned to enjoy not necessarily being perfect. There's already One who is perfect, and because of Him, I'm allowed to make mistakes and laugh about them afterwards.
All I can say to that is
