We are all so wrapped up in our own lives; so cemented in the beliefs and practices of our ancestors that we fail to truly perceive this world we live in. We claim Christ’s love for all mankind, but we fail to show it. When we don’t show others His love, it becomes just another claim. We make bargains and deals with God – “I’ll give you this much if…”, “If you do this I’ll…”, etc. We are no longer the Christians we wanted to be when we were younger, for we value our material world more than the people in it. We would rather buy a new CD than help the new refugee family get enough money to live on. We would rather see the struggling Sudanese family miss out on a youth group adventure than spend a few of our own dollars on them. How much do you spend on your friends for their birthday presents?
Race, colour, creed or belief should be no issue.
We get so caught up in the little, unimportant things that we miss the real issue. You may be the only Bible many people will ever read, so live as Jesus did. You have more than enough potential, the only question is, are you willing?
