No "I do not have a soul", I am a soul!
Wow, this man does not have a soul!

The bible defines a soul as an air breathing creature.
Did you read my OP? The term had many meanings.

Do you have a soul, yes or no?
Finally, a very good question :)

As I said in my OP, I have a soul, which means I have my intellect, emotions, etc. Apparently, you don't have a soul.

Further, I am a soul, meaning I am a living, breathing human being.

Are you able to understand these two different usages of the Hebrew word נָ֫פֶשׁ?

If not, there is no point for further interaction.

Wow, this man does not have a soul!
The Bible reveals why the human mind
is so vastly superior to animal brain.

“There is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of
the Almighty giveth them understanding.” Job 32:8

The "spirit in man" is what makes mans brain different
then animals brains, not the air breathing soul.

The human spirit imparts the power of intellect
to the human brain. The human spirit does not
supply human life—the human life/soul is in the
physical blood, oxidized by the breath of life.

Scientists, with few exceptions, will not even
consider the likelihood of a nonphysical part
of the human brain, that gives man understanding.
Science calls it our Conscious.

The human mind can know what knowledge comes
to it through the senses of seeing, hearing, smelling,
tasting, feeling.

This human spirit cannot see.
The physical brain sees, through the eyes.
The human spirit in a person cannot hear.
The brain hears through the ears.

This human spirit cannot think. The brain thinks—
although the spirit imparts the power to think,
whereas brute animal brains without such spirit
cannot, except in the most elementary manner.

This spirit in man, not the soul that give man understanding.
This spirit in man, not the soul that records information.
This spirit in man, not the soul that returns to God.

This should not be confused with Gods Holy Spirit

"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the
spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God
knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."

The Spirit in man is inparted in a child sometime in the mothers womb.

"As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones
do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest
not the works of God who maketh all.

That's a good point.
That's a good scripture you used as well.
What would you say is the spirit in animals and what is its function (Ecclesiastes 3:19)?
How do you define the breath of life?

Nice. You really put a lot deep thought into this, I can tell.

"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the
spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God
knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."

The Spirit in man is inparted in a child sometime in the mothers womb.

not the works of God who maketh all.
I can tell you for sure, @tonychanyt does not misunderstand the spirit, and the difference between the soul and spirit. That guy knows the scriptures, and he's deep into them.

What he's sharing with you, is the different usages of the term 'soul', which isn't limited to one usage.
So, while you are correct that you are a soul, you aren't going to tell anyone you do not have life, emotions, passions, desires, ect., which are other usages in the Bible, of the word soul.

1 John 3:16; Acts 2710; Joshua 2:13
Tony is a good guy, and clearly, he is right, so we can shake hands on this one. You do have life, don't you? Then all of us are souls, and have souls... within the correct context of the word usage.
Would you agree?

Thanks.
So, you see breath of life as the same as spirit. I agree.
Would this be the same spirit in animals, or do you see that as different?

No you miss understood my post: I see the breath of life is in every creature
that breathes air. The breath of life is not connected/same to 'the spirit in man".
Would this be the same spirit in animals, or do you see that as different?
The "spirit in man" that gives man understanding is different then what animals have.
The spirit in animals give the creature instincts, not intelligent thinking.

There is really no difference in shape and construction between animal brain and human
brain. Animals are equipped with brain and instinct. But they do not have power to
understand and choose moral and spiritual values or to develop perfect spiritual character.

I'm sorry.

Yes. I understand that.

The breath of life is not connected/same to 'the spirit in man".
Okay. Can you explain what the breath of life is then, please?

I understand this. You have already explained what you understand the spirit of man to be.
Can you explain from the scriptures, because in Job 34:14, 14, we read,
"If He should gather to Himself His Spirit and His breath, All flesh would perish together, And man would return to dust."

Is this the same "spirit in man" you refer to?

In the link I posted for you.

What does the bible say about the breath of life?

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became [a living air breathing creature].

Genesis 6:17 (KJV)
And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth,
to destroy all flesh, wherein is [the breath of life], from under
heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

Genesis 7:15 (KJV) And they went in unto Noah into the ark,
two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

Genesis 7:22 (KJV) all in whose nostrils was the breath of life,
of all that was in the dry land, died.

Every insect/creature/mammal or human that breathes air
to survive has the breath of life in them, verses above show.

The human/creature's life is in the physical [blood],
that is oxidized by [the breath of life].

When God breathed into Adam, it was more like a doctor clearing the
airway of a child before its first breath. God started his breathing process.

The breath of life: every living air breathing creature has the breath of life in it.

Sorry?
God started the breathing process - x - Air ?
Forgive me, please. I don't understand. What do you mean?
I don't want to misunderstand you. Is that, God started the breathing process by air?
The breath of life is more than air, as I'm sure you know, so my question is, Can you explain what the breath of life is?

I also wanted to know if the spirit mentioned at Job 34:14, 15 is the same "spirit in man" you refer to.
I hope you don't mind me asking these questions.

The breath of life: every living air breathing creature has the breath of life in it.
I agree. Without it, they would stop breathing, and die. What is it?
That's what I would like to hear from you.

I don't want to misunderstand you. Is that, God started the breathing process by air?
Plain [Air] we breath, that God created out of water, for us to breath.

God blew fresh clean air into Adams nostrils, filling His lungs with air.
That started His lungs and heart to start working for the first time.

I like the bible to let the bible interpret itself.
We learn in gen. every air breathing creature has the breath of life.
This breath of life[air we breath] is no different in man or animal,
once the breath of life leaves us we die. What more is there to it?.

The bible only records God breathing into the first man Adam ,
which was the son of God, to start the breathing process.

Once Adam started breathing, He became an air breathing creature.
God did not blow a soul into Adams lungs; he became a soul.
Plain English God started the breathing process in Adam.

The breath of life is more than air, as I'm sure you know, so my question is, Can you explain what the breath of life is?
Where in the bible does it say that The breath of life
is more than just God given air for us to breath and survive?

Let's not confuse the breath of life with being breathed on
and receiving the gift of Gods Holy Spirit.

I also wanted to know if the spirit mentioned at Job 34:14, 15 is the same "spirit in man" you refer to.
I hope you don't mind me asking these questions.
I have not studied that verse yet, but it could referee to
the spirit in man yes.
I agree. Without it, they would stop breathing, and die. What is it?
That's what I would like to hear from you.
You breath air you live, when cut off from air you die.
[Plain air] designed and given to us by God to breath.

They tried to build the tower of babble so they could keep breathing air.
