Exactly. ...add to that bearing false witness, and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (to list just a couple more).I thought that gossip was verboten according to the Bible. SMH.
Here is feminism. I just saw on the news that one state (iirc, Kentucky) is trying to pass a law forcing men to get their wives' permission to get a prescription for Viagra. lol. I guess it's payback for the early years of the Pill when women needed their husband's permission?
State Rep. Mary Lou Marzian, a Democrat, acknowledged to the Louisville Courier-Journal that the bill has no chance of passing. However, she said the bill was a response to several anti-abortion measures, including a recently ratified law that requires a woman seeking an abortion to get counseling at least 24 hours in advance from a health professional.
Yes. Taking information from one forum that is out of context and then repeating that out of context information elsewhere on the internet is a false witness. Particularly when it has been repeatedly stated that it is out of context and incorrect. It's dishonest at that point. Gleeful dishonesty at that. Anything to support a person's skewed worldview I suppose.Exactly. ...add to that bearing false witness, and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (to list a few more).

My husband had also to get my permission - not easily given on my part, but eventually agreed.Edited to add - I do recall when I got my vasectomy about 14 years ago that the doctor would not do it until he knew my wife was in agreement. Not a legal requirement, but one that doctor had I think.

When I heard the news story over the weekend I wanted to jump up and scream YES!!!!Hey...Viagra is used for only one purpose...gotta make sure the men are taking it to be able to do the horizontal bop with the wife...not a girlfriend, ya know? Fair is fair.
I'm sorry. It seems a bit nannyish to me. What next? No lube unless you have a note from your spouse? When I heard the news story over the weekend I wanted to jump up and scream YES!!!!
I hope it passes; and gets passed in every state.
It is not about "fair," it is about what is biblically acceptable.
If ya ain't married, you should not be having sex. If you are, it had better be ONLY with your MRS.
I do not see how this has anything to do with feminism.
I had to have a full hysterectomy, and I don't remember if he had to sign anything. Although it was more for medical reasons.

Radical feminists might seem to think so, that men need "permission" just like women may have needed permission when the Pill first came out. I ignored the topic of married sex because I don't want to get into a discussion of whether we should be forcing Christian values on a world that chooses to be secular. When I heard the news story over the weekend I wanted to jump up and scream YES!!!!

Yep... it's not up to the government to stop people from making bad choices in life. And it's not up to Christians to force our beliefs onto a world that rejects Jesus.
ETA just because a wife agrees her husband can use Viagra doesn't stop him from extra-marital sex.
Great points, Red. I don't want to know what anyone else is doing in bed. Gay, straight or in-between. Ew. No. interest. at. all. This is what mystifies me...what is the conservative jones about sex? It seems like the conservatives are seriously interested in who's having sex, who they're having it with, whether or not contraception is "legal"...for heaven's sake, stay out of people's bedrooms, doctor's offices and drug stores. People have sex...sometimes they have sex with people, sometimes they're alone. As long as it's not kids or animals, who cares! Let people do their thing.
That was my point on the Viagra thing...conservatives fuss about insurance coverage for contraception...so why should women "pay" for men to have Viagra, Cialis, and whatever else? Lack of function is NOT life-threatening. For some women, pregnancy can be deadly.
