Would you support an Obama administration?

Would you allow an Obama administration to govern?

  • Of course, I'm a Democrat

  • I'm a Republican, but I'll give the guy a chance

  • No way, Obama is an outsider and the election was probably stolen

  • In my heart I want to give him a chance, but as a Republican it's my duty to continue the fight

  • I will restore Republican rule by any means necessary

  • It's got nothing to do with Democrat vs Republican, I will not accept a black man in the White House

If Obama wins the upcoming election, will you support his administration? Of course the Democrats will, but I'm more interested in what the Republicans will do. Do you feel it is patriotic and necessary to criticize and undermine the legitimacy of any Democratic administration? Will you allow a Democratic administration to govern, or do you feel bound to create an atmosphere of hatred and mistrust simply to level the contrast between the perception of Republican and Democratic rule? Is it your duty to oppose any Democratic reform which might benefit America only because it comes from Democrats? What will you do if Obama is elected?

Is your comment on his comment an insight into you?
Well, yes. I was skimming down the choices and was a little shocked at the last choice. I don't think like that, so yeah, my comment is an insight into me.

I can't take the poll because there is not an option for me.

For me, I will except him as The President "when" he wins the election. I will give him the respect that any person deserves who holds that office. However, I will fight hard against his socialist ideals as he trys to push them on the American People.

Yes, it is an insight into me. As a 60 year old man who was raised in the South, I know there is a large percentage of unrepentant racists in this country. They will not admit it to pollsters, they speak in code among themselves, but they are out there, and they will be enraged if a black man becomes president.

Well then, it's good that everyone eventually dies.

What do you mean by fight hard?

Also what do you think about George W. Bush (and McCain, and our whole government for that matter) pushing socialist ideals on the American people?

Is it that you only care when/if a democrat does it?

I recall that when Bush took office the Dems immediately started treating him the way they felt the Reps had treated Clinton when he was in office.

I anticipate that when Obama takes office the Reps will start treating thim the way they felt the Dems treated Bush.

This is an unfair question.

If Obama wins the upcoming election, will you support his administration?
I would guess that the average Republican voter (not the party, but the average person) will vigorously criticize any of Obama's actions he disagrees with, but generally wish the best for Obama, because it benefits everyone if the president manages to improve the nation. Most of us want the same things--affordable healthcare, a healthy environment, economic prosperity, good education, and security at home. We just disagree with each other on how to achieve those.

I'd guess that the majority of people are not explicitly partisan and would accept practical and fair solutions from either party.

I'm a very liberal Democrat, so please correct me if I am wrong, Republicans.

I'm afraid you are wrong. The Gingrich congress voted against Clinton legislation simply because it came from Democrats, and would therefore enhance the reputation of Democrats at the expense of Republicans. Gingrich was quoted saying the Republicans impeached Clinton "because they could".

Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and the other right wing media spokespeople will attack Obama immediately simply because that is their mandate, their listeners expect it. To me, this behaviour borders on treason. The Democrats gave Bush a chance in 2001, and stood with him after 9/11. Can we expect the same of the Republicans after an Obama inauguration? I hope so, but I doubt it.

Also, I notice the Republicans have not cast their votes in this poll. Are you afraid to go on the record? Are you undecided how you will react?

I will continue to support the things I already support and stand against what I am against.
I don't think I'm as concerned or zealous for government as you are, therefore I'm unable to use any of the answers in your poll as my own.
Perhaps the second answer would be the closest to my own albeit I am not a Republican and the guy has a chance whether I say so or not.

"The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
- Ronald Reagan

Why would a man who believed that want to be president? I'll never understand the conservative view that government must be dismantled. The whole purpose of government is to help the less fortunate, not to ridicule those who make the attempt.

You went to governments schools, didn't you?

Because those indoctrination centers don't teach the truth about governments. They don't teach that governments don't really care for anyone, only power. Governments have caused the greatest of atrocities throughout history. And it has nothing to do with "type of government", and everything to do with creating a "platform" which allows someone to wield the government. Because the people who desire this "power and control" now have a means of getting their hands on it, in all levels of government.
