Texas GOP still opposes legalization of Sodomy.

Lol ohhh Texas...soon we will give you to Mexico...

Well, let's see....Texas has:

Dyess Air Force Base - Abilene
Goodfellow Air Force Base - San Angelo
Lackland Air Force Base - San Antonio
Laughlin Air Force Base - Johnstone
Randolph Air Force Base - Universal City
Sheppard Air Force Base - Wichita Falls
Biggs Army Airfield - Fort Bliss - El Paso, TX
Camp Bullis - San Antonio
Corpus Christi Army Depot - Corpus Christi
Fort Bliss - El Paso
Fort Hood - Killeen
Fort Sam Houston - San Antonio
Red River Army Depot - southwest of Texarkana
USCG Air Station Houston - Houston
USCG Station Galveston - Galveston Island
Corpus Christi Naval Air Station
Fort Worth Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base
Ingleside Naval Station

Good Lord, I pity Mexico. The war will last about five days, and Mexico will end up being occupied by Texas for 200 years.

Really? CDC research center, Houston Space Center, all the ports, oil refineries, chemical plants, oil fields, Texas based businesses and the Texas tax revenue? You're going to give that all to Mexico?

Sweet.

2 weeks after you give us away, we'll win the civil war that ensues, gain our independence and become the Republic of Texas.

Precisely. The way things are going, what's left of Obamaland will be asking Texas for foreign aid.

So how are you going to check if heterosexual couples are engaging in backdoor escapdes or not? Install cameras in their bedrooms? Ask them as they come out? Come on you small government fanatics, tell us how you're going to police what every couple in the state does in their own bedroom.

Again: we couldn't care less what you do in your own bedroom, or who or what you do it with or to; we just don't want to be forced to accept it as normal, beneficial, or moral.

For what it's worth, in Catholic theology, sodomy is condemned, regardless of the gender of the participants. So is pornography, masturbation, adultery, bestiality, fornication, and prostitution.

I know that, which is why I've been saying that we need to divide the country. You live in your world, and we live in ours, because there is no hope of us ever living in harmony together.

Let's see....we'll take the Northeast, the Great Plains, the Midwest, the Mountain West, California, Texas, and the South. You can have the Salt Lake Desert, the Nevada atomic bomb test site, and any parts of the Southwest that have no aesthetic, commercial or agricultural purpose.

That's the funny thing about Patriotic Americans like yourself, you're so Patriotic (TM) that you want to virtually destroy the country. And here I thought Patriotism was all about keeping the country together, not treason. Oh well.

I will never understand why some people are so concerned about which orifice perfect strangers like to put it in. Who. Cares. And if you do care, why?

This, squared and cubed.

What consenting adults do in their own bedrooms is soooooo not the government's business. This bill should be shredded, the tatters burned, and the room in which is was conceived, fumigated.

Actually, Texas "has" none of those things -- they all belong to the Federal government.

It'll be a massive headache to transfer all those men and materials out before handing Texas over to Mexico -- but hey, no pain, no gain.

When you put it that way, I pity Mexico too.

Yes, you do. You care deeply. You care so much it hurts. Because you're trying to stop people from performing a certain action, to certain people, in their own bedrooms. And it's not even 'teh gayz', it's anyone who performs sodomy, including heterosexuals, that are targeted by this law, told that actually, no, people can't engage in an action that two adults have freely consented to.

So this is about control. You want to dictate what others can do. It's that simple. Everything else is smoke and mirrors. And if you support this law and then have the barefaced cheek to say you're for small government or want government out of peoples' lives then, well, you're an absolute hypocrite at best and something I can't say on this site at worst.

So cut out the "I'm being forced to accept it as moral" BS. No-one is forcing you to accept anything. They're asking you to get your interventionist, busy-body, moralising, preaching, self-righteous, nosey self out of their lives and worry about yourself instead of the sexual preferences of others.
For what it's worth, in Catholic theology, sodomy is condemned, regardless of the gender of the participants. So is pornography, masturbation, adultery, bestiality, fornication, and prostitution.
That isn't worth anything, mainly because we don't live in Vatican City. If you want legislation dictated by theology, go live in a theocracy.

So don't accept it, no on e can force you to accept anything. Advocating to make it illegal is not "couldn't care less", it is directly interfering in the lives and liberties of fellow Americans. Feel free to disapprove of it all you want. Heck shout it from the rooftops for all I care. But don't tell me how I must comport myself in the privacy of my own home and then claim you are not trying to be intrusive.

I don't think the average Mexican is that worried. Unless of course Texas is joined by Arizona. There seem to be some in Arizona that would push for playing the Deguello when crossing over into Mexico.

Sure they are. They want me to accept their behavior as normal, even to the point of re-defining the concept of marriage.
Not Like Everyone Else

I'm sorry for your anger, but you're just going to have to realize that a lot of us out here will never accept that two sexual deviants living together is a "marriage", any more than a guy with a big hat and his hand stuck in his shirt is actually Napoleon.

Don't bother to reply with more heat, because you're going on "Ignore". We will never agree, and it's best if we just separate from each other.....it will eventually come to this on a national level, I'm afraid; hopefully without benefice of arms, but one never knows. (shrug) Perhaps it's all for the best.

One nation indivisible, huh?

Not any more. Hasn't been, really, since about 1968. It gets worse every year. We're really two completely separate, utterly polarized countries, each with it's own concept of morality, history, nationalism, and ideas of what America "is", and we're currently occupying the patch of territory.

Neither side wants to live in the "other side's America", and so we have this constant conflict, which is reflected in microcosm on forums like this. Eventually one side will win out over the other, and that will be that. I don't know what the country will look like by the time we come out on the other end (if it still exists at all), but I'm sure the process of getting there is not going to be pleasant.

Please do! It's about time we trimmed America. Our butt is a bit too big for style these days.

Point being: Texas GOP can go to heck; who would ever think about incarcerating those who practice sodomy?

Btw: oral sex is legally defined as sodomy. So to all those who say sodomy is sexually deviant, but still practice it--hypocrites!

So if you're against sodomy you're against oral sex; I wonder how many of the Texas GOP would honestly answer "yes I am agains oral sex".

So, basically, people who don't feel gays and lesbians should be prosecuted for having sexual relations with one another deserve to live in barren wastelands that could pose a health hazard? Only those who believe gays are horrible perverts deserve a prosperous life? Nice. And people wonder why they're called bigoted.

So, I'm guessing you're against gay marriage? Ok, are you in favor of laws that criminalize homosexuality, or heterosexual sodomy?

1. "Ignore" is the worst form of self cencorship.

2. Would you really pick up arms because the state choose to recognize same sex marriages?

Point being: Texas GOP can go to heck; who would ever think about incarcerating those who practice sodomy?

As a Texan, I feel the same way. And you need to realize most Texans also feel the same way.

Yes. Not wanting to be persecuted under the law is the same as forcing you to accept them. Sorry, you don't get to enforce your morals through the government.

You worship an invisible man in the sky. If people can accept your behavior as normal, it's not too much to ask for some consideration in return.

Again what is with people not understanding, this law is a "Pickles must bounce," law... Its unenforced. At best it persecutes pornography studios who would love the no income tax from Texas, but no sodomy for them =( So persecuted!
