It is a common cliche that "real" psionics are most often cursed by their "ability," and even some refuse to "share," out of concern for others.

I am inclined to believe this at least the majority of the time.

Real psionics with deep intuition risk ridicule, shaming, spiritual and physical assault with mention of the reality of their ability. Again, I don't consider myself psionics or psychic, but I have been able to see supernatural things (including entities) that were not good. When I spoke to someone in my Bible group about this some time ago, he literally feigned having to go back to campus - walking the opposite direction.

It is ironic fortune that, even though intuitive who are real Godly psionic are met with abrasiveness from the general public, their very personality (if they are introverted) compels them to stay withing themselves anyway.

It is a big deal, therefore, when an intuitive introvert decided to share something close to them with someone else - especially of the OP caliber.

The ones that do it for money - some of them are actual psionics. One of my family members went with her friend when she was young. The "psychic" was ready to read, but when my family member reluctantly put her hand out, the woman "sensed" that she wasn't supposed to be there - and got angry with her.

"You aren't even supposed to be here...," the psychic said with a scowl on her face. "I know...," my relative said. And, then she walked out - but not before the psychic said, "don't ever come back." And my relative eagerly obliged.

This psychic didn't know anything about her, and my relative came in without "diverging negativity" to the experience. But, my relative was a growing Christian, and she knew at a young age that psychic readings were a Christian no no. I think when she met the psychic, there was a literal spiritual battle going on, and the two of them played spiritual agents. Ultimately, my relative was deemed a threat if she stayed.

The psychic knew what she had in her; her spirit was tussling round inside. She had, though, insight from whatever "hosts" she was using for her psychic shows to recognize those who would or did forsake the Holy Covenant of God - as per Daniel 11. She got power on LOAN.

My relative should have stayed away in general, but not every charlatan or real practitioner of psionics and divination for gain is easy to spot. There are some who live in the world everyday, hiding in plain sight.

Which, is why we need the Holy Spirit to guide us in all things.

May I step in for a moment?

We are usually so focused on the physical realm that we forget that we are spirit as much as dust, if not more so.

It makes sense that if we are spiritual entities, then we should be able to interact with the spiritual realm. Whether we are actually attentive to the spirits is another matter though.

As scripture tells us, the disobedient are 'spiritually dead', having no power in that realm, not even enough power to resist another spirit seizing control of them, while we who are alive in Christ have the power to resist the control of other spirits and have also the Holy Spirit indwelling us continually.

    In answer to the OP,
Some of us are more attentive to spirits than others. For the lost, it's any spirit at all, good or evil. For the redeemed, most spiritual communication will be with the Holy Spirit, though we may certainly perceive the presence and working of unholy spirits and probably the angels as well.
The scriptures do not condemn being aware of the spiritual realm but rather encourage all people to yield to the Holy Spirit and encourage us to talk regularly with our Heavenly Father, who is also a spirit. What the scriptures do warn against is calling on other spirits, both the false gods and those who have passed from this life as well as dealing with those who do these things. In the days before the permanent indwelling of the Holy Spirit, there was a real risk of possession. For a believer to try to reach out to any spirit but God (or, possibly one of the holy angels) would be to risk inviting the unholy spirits to take an interest in you or your family. Even if you are 'saved' and thus immune to possession, others around you may not be and even so, being alive in Christ doesn't prevent an evil spirit from trying to harm you.
This is why we don't trifle with the spiritual realm.
That being said, being aware of it isn't a sin.

Wrong. There are people who are psychic. In most it's a latent ability, though it's not something necessarily to be coveted.

Christians who claim that psychic abilities must derive either from divine or demonic inspiration recall ancients who believed that mental and/or physical illness must reflect demonic possession. In fact, natural psychic talent has been well demonstrated in labs under controlled conditions. The gift of remote viewing can be taught and used by the military for the purpose of useful espionage.

Natural paranormal talent is more conceivable now that the "ghost within a machine" view of the mind/ body problem has fallen into philosophical and neurological disrepute. Neurological research makes it impossible to locate any portion of the brain in which "the soul" or ego control resides. Rather, the mind seems to exist in a non-spatial/ non-temporal realm, from which it employs the body like a radio transmitter to think and act through us. But this realization suggests that the notion of a physical separation among minds is obsolete and misguided and that minds are in some sense one or connected. Psychiatrist Carl Jung refers to this oneness as the collective unconscious.

What remains unclear is the precise relationship between natural psychic gifts and gifts of the Holy Spirit. As I have cultivated prophetic gifts and the word of knowledge (see 1 Corinthians 12), I noticed that I also developed spiritually useless abilities like card guessing. We know so little about hidden potentials of the human mind and I suspect that gifts of the Spirit often make use of the activation of our mind's hidden potentials.

For a sampling of my own psychic experiences, see my thread "The Spirituality of Premonitions" which can be found under the "Spiritual Gifts" subforum of this site. Exactly right... It isn't that someone has their radio on - It's which station they listen to.

I've always had an intuition to be able to find things that have been lost, including before and after I was saved. I consider this to be a God given ability. I have never strived to have or increase this, just accepted it with thanks. Examples of the sort of thing I am talking about is once I arrived at a friends house when we were due to go out. He said he couldnt leave the house because he had lost his keys 3 days before and couldnt find them anywhere. I told him to look in the sifa but he told me he already had. I insisted and they were there. He'd been looking for 3 days and I knew in 3 seconds. Another was a friend who had lost something and told me when I visited. I intuitively knew he had left it at a friends and after a few questions he phoned a friend who we worked out it would probably be and it was there.

When I got saved my pastor recognised a prophetic gift in me, although after a change of pastor at the church this was actively discouraged. Even though its being discouraged atm I have always considered this a gift from God and I have never, before or after being saved, sought to engage in satanic, spiritualist or psychic activity. It is something God has used, for example I go to a chirch that had closed down which God told me to pray from. 2 years after it closed, during which time God was putting on my heart to keep praying for it the church re-opened.

I suggest the OP uses their friends intuition as a means to talk to them about it being evidence of Gods work in our lives. For you, God has used this person to save your life, for me a church being re-opened in an area where there is little light in the spiritual darkness, but we have seen the influence of the church grow in the whole town. Use this to lead them to recognise that this may be from God and as such they should accept God into their lives (if they are not saved). If it is not from God, it is from another source spiritually so they should accept God anyway. Either way it is evidence of activity in the spiritual realm which points to God.

Some think if it's only having an intuitive and instinctual kind of gut feeling or sense, and your not trying to abuse or use it for personal selfish gain or advantage, then it's the Holy Spirit, otherwise, it's the Devil...

Remember Jesus had supernatural powers and the devil tempted him to use it for personal, selfish gain and advantage, cause he knew if he could, he would be his... He'd have him then...

Having that kind of sense is one supernatural gift of the spirit, and the rules about using it or abusing it for personal or selfish gain or advantage apply to all supernatural powers or gifts...

    God Bless!

What else is left? Humans do not have that ability in ourselves.

Really? What "control" does a lab have on determining whether a demon is involved or not?

Belief, or thoughts can, in a being ever more currently proven theory, cause our thoughts to affect matter and change and alter reality and especially our bodies...

Did you read the rest of my post?
Anyway, I feel all of our abilities come from God. I feel sometimes even with spiritual gifts, we can operate in them before we are saved or come to God. Ill give you a couple of examples. My friend ..she's not a Christian but she was always very intuitive when it came to peoples emotions...she was literally able to sense and feel what others around her feel. She doesn't dabble in the occult or anything like that, Gods gifting can be heavy upon us that sometimes we can operate in them before coming to God. Anyway to this day she still isn't a Christian and that gift she has is the gift of discernment. I see it like this...I'm an artist... This ability is from God...before I even knew who God was , I was still able to use and hone this talent.,.but now that I do know God I can dedicate and use my talents for god.

Even before my pastor knew God ,she would see and just know things..because that's the gifts god bestowed upon her.

( Another great example are singers...they use their gifts when they're young for themselves most of the time. They can either use their gift to sing for themselves and the world or use it to praise God)

A even better example is Samuel. When Samuel was a young boy, even he heard the voice of the Lord calling him before he even knew God. And that is scripture..

So everything is not the devil. God pours out his gifts on every flesh.

Well, we are made in the image and likeness of God... And, if God thought, and then spoke, and believed what he spoke would come to pass and become a reality, and it did...?

    Who knows...?

I think it can only really truly happen in connection with faith in God also, though, but, I could be wrong...?

    God Bless!

1 Samuel 3New International Version (NIV)
    The Lord Calls Samuel
3 The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare;B)"

2 One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see,> was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house of God was. 4 Then the Lord called Samuel.

Samuel answered, “Here I am. And he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”

But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down.

6 Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”

“My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.”

*****((((((7 Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him.))))))******

This proves that you CAN operate in the gifts the Lord has embedded in you without necessarily knowing the Lord. God was calling Samuel and even he didn't know it yet. So again, not everything is the devil...it is possible to operate in your gifts outside of knowing god.

I understand that. Both King Saul when trying to kill David, and Caiaphas when trying to kill our Lord, prophesied from the Holy Spirit. So did the prophet-for-hire Balaam.
I do not doubt that at all. But we live in a fallen world under the dominion of the devil. Even many (perhaps most) truly saved believers have demonic attachments.

There is a difference between "Spirit Upon" (which is what we are talking about here" and "Spirit Within."

Simply put, I think if the gift causes torment and unease and brings about negative events its from the Devil. The devil doesn't do anything good nor is he the bringer of anything good. Only God is....why would the devil give you insight about a friend or family member so that you can help them? His only purpose is to kill, steal and destroy.

If the gift does any 3 of those things its from the devil.

But if your able to comfort, better understand and help people with it..it comes from God.

Its just that simple. Its like you're making a mole into a mountain.
