I've already made a thread about why Trump is an idiot/crazy person, so here's one about the guy who's second in the Republican polls, Ben Carson.

Carson has said multiple times that "there might not be an election in 2016." He called Obamacare "slavery" and said the Democrats wanted to pass it to set up a socialist government. He seems to think Obama is a secret Communist; he said if you want to understand Obama, you should read The Naked Communist, the works of Vladimir Lenin, and for some reason, Mein Kampf. NOTE: If you do read Mein Kampf (or even George Orwell's review of it, which I think is awesome), you'll know Hitler hated Communism, blamed it on the Jews, and supported its "extermination."

Carson also believes America is controlled by a "Neo-Marxist" plot:

"If you look at a lot of the writings of the Neo-Marxists, when they talk about the New World Order, they say there's only one stick in the mud: the United States. How do you get them out of the way or how do you change them? And they said there were two fundamental things: 'their Judeo-Christian faith' and 'their strong families'. Those were the things that had to be attacked, and those things have been systematically attacked over the last several decades. There's a book called The Naked Communist by Cleon Skousen. The same guy who wrote The Thousand-Year Leap lays out the whole agenda of how to attack the family and the Judeo-Christian values to weaken the structure of America. This stuff is not secret: you can read about it. You can read about it in Saul Alinsky's book (you know, his book Rules for Radicals). It's a quick, easy read; you can see all the things that are happening in America today."

The sane Republicans who are left should reconsider preferring insane Republicans to sane Democrats.

I guess it depends on how much he believes what he says and how much actual thought went into those statements.

My impression of left-wing radicals to right-wing radicals who've read Alinski's book is something like 999:1

I think the cognitive dissonance between scientific/medical training and religiously-motivated rejection of evolution is enough to drive many people insane if they think about the issue in any detail.

Let me see if I have the logic right here ...

You believe Ben Carson is crazy because he thinks Obama is crazy. You believe Donald Trump is crazy because he thinks Obama is crazy.

My irony meter is starting to light up.

No, I think they're crazy because they believe multiple crazy conspiracy theories.

Debunk the theories. Name-calling accomplishes nothing.

His conspiracy theories aren't completely disprovable (after all, any evidence against them could just be part of the conspiracy). David Icke's idea that the world is controlled by shape-shifting alien reptiles who feast on human blood isn't disprovable either—but we still realize it's crazy, because it requires us to believe outlandish things for no good reason. It's possible that Obama's a secret Hitler-sympathizing Communist (even though, like I said before, Hitler hated Communism!) and an anonymous group of "Neo-Marxists" is somehow causing slow, large-scale social trends to bring about a "New World Order." But until there's proof of those claims, or even any evidence at all, they're extremely remote possibilities.

That easy, once the evidence that proves the conspiracy is presented, then it's possible to move on to the debunking stage.

Well, Obama isn't crazy. He's a narcissist to be sure, but not crazy.

Reminds me of a Bible verse ...

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

Come on haven't you read the trend? That's just crazy!

Oh, wait. :p
I don't think the OP author realizes their personal attacks on Ben Carson and Rand Paul are credible until he can do as he was asked early on in this thread. Debunk all the theories which he attributes as crazy because those the OP author targets in his attack threads, Carson, Paul, supposedly believe them.

Why should he have to debunk them? Rather, the theories should be provable on their own merits... of which there are none. Outlandish theories supported by no evidence are the definition of "crazy", and I've honestly heard saner things from the paranoid schizophrenics in the mental health chatroom I go on.

These aren't things Carson "supposedly" believes; Pakicetus directly quoted him and linked to a video.

Why should he have to debunk them?
It should be obvious.
When you make the argument that these people are crazy for believing this or that, in order to appear more sane yourself you have to show why those charges of crazy, per the beliefs stated as such, are crazy. And in order to do that you have to prove the beliefs are crazy because they're untrue, fabricated, untenable, etc...

For instance, someone says, Joe Smith over there is a whacky guy because he believes the earth is flat!
OK, prove Joe Smith is crazy by proving the earth isn't flat. Thereby revoking Joe Smith reason to believe the earth is flat with proof the earth is not flat.

Bigfoot cannot be disproven, but that does not make the idea of bigfoot any less ridiculous.

Yes well, the Bigfoot allusion is irrelevant and immaterial in comparison to the entirety of this discussion.

...why exactly? Well, other then pointing out the problem with your reasoning of course. :sorry:
