I don't like the "Serenity Prayer." It seems apparent to me that the guy who wrote it wasn't reading his Bible--everything that he says has a big ME in it. Here's mine:

Father,

Give me the wisdom and the strength to know Your will, and to love and accept it.

Give me the faith to change what you would have me change. Without You, I can do nothing. With You, all things are possible.

Walk with me, Father, so that I know every step to take, and hear all of Your words continually.

So. There.

Hi! :wave:
I'm wondering if you ever read the original Serenity Prayer?
Here it is, for you!

The Serenity Prayer

by Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)
Complete, Unabridged, Original Version.

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it;
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

Ah...so what I've been reading on T-shirts and church signs is just a watered down version. What a shock :D
