For the record, I'm up in the air about that now.

My pastor says even they didn't speak the language of the King James Bible back then.

Thus making the King James' language a Heavenly language.

England was Heaven? Oh, better not tell the English that.

why restrict the word yom to 24 hours ...

For one thing, God reinforced that usage of it in the Ten Commandments.

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

I said my pastor said they DIDN'T speak that way back then.

But you still think that Jacobean ENGLISH was spoken as a heavenly language.

See? It's nonsense like this that make me give you grief.

So they spoke English.

Would it be better if I said they spoke Hebrew?

Then you could give me grief that the Hebrews didn't exist until Abraham's time.

You don't know that. Hebrew is attested to as a written language at least in 1000 BC, and we don't know how much more beyond that it could be spoken for.
It would make more sense than bloody Jacobean English.

None of that is what I said in the OP. What you're saying has to be from a completely different thread.

Since you seem horribly confused, possibly by your own actions, I'll copy and paste what I wrote for you to see:

Why is it not possible for God to have used evolution to create the different lifeforms that we see in the world today and what wee have seen in the past and fossils of?

In fact, I'll quote myself, just to make it extra clear:
You use the word lifeforms. You are a life form. You have consciousness.
Evolution as defined by most is chemistry.

so the following is pure logic.

if “ lifeforms” have consciusnessness,
AND consciousness isn’t chemistry BUT evolution is chemistry ,
THen God can’t have used evolution to create life QED.

So unless you say what evolution “ is “ it’s hard to say.
At cell level “ evolution” says little or nothing anywhere from first cell to present level structure.
So evolution doesnt explain life Or development of life, so there’s no known process defined to assess wherger God could use It.

As I keep saying , evolution isn’t a single idea , theory or concept . People make up what it means as they go along.

Sorry warden , I like definition precision without which logic is impossible.

My first statement is true : some Christian’s think God did “ use evolution”
its a safe thing to say if you don’t define it.

anyway. You asked , I answered, others can have their say.

You could have just said this entirely and left it at that.

The rest of your comment was waffle.

And also, no, that wasn't your first comment at all.

You don't know that.

I don't believe it, either.

Hebrew didn't come along until Abraham's time -- not Adam's.

Hebrew is attested to as a written language at least in 1000 BC,

What language did Adam speak in 4004 BC though?

Genesis 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

What's your opinion as to what that language was?

(And I won't ridicule you for it.)

... and we don't know how much more beyond that it could be spoken for.

Then don't tell me what it wasn't, until you're willing to tell me what you think it was.

It would make more sense than bloody Jacobean English.

You hate Jacobean English that badly, do you?

No, I meant that "You don't know that I'll give you grief for it".

Old Welsh.

Then don't tell me what it wasn't, until you're willing to tell me what you think it was.

Old Welsh.

You hate Jacobean English that badly, do you?

Why do you automatically assume that I hate it when I see an American Baptist saying that the original language of the world, and seemingly the language of Heaven, God's angels and possibly God himself, was a language that didn't exist until the first quarter of the 17th century AD?
I just think it's nonsensical, asinine and frankly just dumb.

God does not lie, but man does.
Sure, but what's your point? That man made up the creation story? In that case how do you know any of the Bible to be real and accurate? Many important people of the faith claimed Adam was a real person. And while Jesus didn't mention Adam and Eve by name, even He said that God created them as male and female. What I said before is still 100% accurate, if Adam and Eve were not legitimate people, then God lied and the Christian faith is useless.

Then that's a problem you need to bring up with your pastor/priest/bishop/whoever.

Only because you don't think it existed until academia says it did.

Academia breeds intolerance and ridicule.

'Academia'. That's your favourite word and it means so little coming from someone such as you.

An American so in love with an Englishman's Bible that he thinks that God Himself spoke the King's English for no reason at all.

And you wonder why you're met with ridicule.

Indeed.

And Paul refers to Jesus as "last Adam."

I've never given a reason at all why I believe that?

And you wonder why you're met with ridicule.

Not anymore.

I've learned to expect it.

Academia breeds intolerance and ridicule.

I will admit though, I'm caught off-guard at times.
