Jesus 'died on Friday, April 3, 33AD', claim researchers, who tie earthquake data with the gospels to find the date | Mail Online

Day of Jesus' Crucifixion Believed Determined : Discovery News

The Moon Shall Be Turned Into Blood

And it was the third hour, and they crucified him

Right now, it is 9AM in Israel, on April 3rd, 2013, almost 2000 years at the same time Christ was nailed and hung on a cross.

Where did you get that? April 3 (14 Nisan), 33 AD is the best-proven date we have.

14 Nisan is the preparation day. In Nisan 14th it was sacrified a lamb and eaten coming the night. The lamb sacrified on the afternoon of the 14th was eaten the night of the 15th.

The Gospels are telling us out of any doubt that on Nisan 14 Jesus gives instructions to Peter and John to make all preparatives. Coming the night og the 15th Jesus entered the house ans sat to eat the Passover. Jesus eate the passover the night of the 15th as the passover is eaten the night of the 15th.

As you can see, Jesus ended the 14th Nisan alive.

Once we have proven that Jesus was not crucified the 14th Nisan, the next spet will be to demostrate that he were not crucified on 33AD.

Jesus were crucified the year 30AD, in the Jew date of Nisan 20th.

I have leaned heavily toward a Wednesday crucifixion, burial near sunset. Thursday was an annual Sabbath the First Day of Unleavened Bread then exactly three days later would be Sabbath evening....this would mean that he was already risen by Sunday morning the first day of the week!

This fits best with the women preparing the burial spices on Friday....after the annual Sabbath was over....so that they were ready to prepare his body with those spices by Sunday morning!

In the cace of a crucifixion on Wed, there is not any explanation on why the women did not go to the sepulcre on Fri.
The Supossed Wed crucifixion is setting the resurrection on Sat, but we know in Mark 16:9 that Jesus did resurrect on Sun.

The Wed theory is long time ago destroyed and buried.

Thank you for responding to this theory Maite Els!

If the Wednesday crucifixion was accurate it would mean that he was buried just before sunset when the Jewish annual Sabbath, the First Day of Unleavened Bread would begin. Then by FRiday morining they are able to purchase spices:

Mar 16:1 ¶ And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

Mar 16:2 And very early in the morning the first [day] of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

....So by that theory they purchase and perhaps do some preparation of the spices on Friday...they then rest on the weekly Sabbath from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset and bright and early Sunday morning Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua is already risen!

If the theory that he was supposed to be three days and three nights (72 hours) in the heart of the earth is true.....then we could well be looking at a late Saturday afternoon resurrection.....before sunset!

I am not worried about this but one of the things that God is restoring at this time is the knowledge of the Jewish calendar and how it probably relates to the Christian Bible events!

Luke 24:1 ¶ "Now upon the first [day] of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain [others] with them."

Whatever is meant by the word prepared, in Luke 24 may explain why they did not go to prepare the body of Jesus on Friday! If they did not have enough time to prepare his body before sunset Friday....then this would force them to wait until Sunday morning!

You still dont answer why the women who bough specias on Fri (according to you) did not go to the sepulcre the same day.

Here is a repeat of post #9:

and it matters to us here and now how?
im really not sure ..

but i would hold to it being fully and perfectly tied in with the time of the Passover ,,, as that makes sense right through the entirety of the scriptures.

I suspect the three full days, 72 hours, are symbolic of 3000 years from the time of the resurrection to the time of the coming down of the New Jerusalem that is prepared as a bride for her husband that is mentioned in Revelation.

I believe the Jerusalem Temple of Ezekiel 40 to 48 will occur after 2000 years....which could well begin around 2028 to 2033??????!!!

Maite Els.....when you read part of, or all of the following article. Would you agree with me that Protestant Reformer, took the words of the Apostle Paul that were written under one set of circumstances.....and unwisely applied them in a way that set the stage for the holocaust of the Nazi era!

Martin Luther: The Jews and Their Lies

Martin Luther: The Jews and Their Lies

(1543)

I ask this question because you seem rather desperate to not confront the cognitive dissonance that perhaps RAbbi Jesus/Yehoshua.......actually.....may have not made it clear to his Jewish disciples that there was no reason for them to continue to keep the weekly and annual Sabbaths???????!!!!!

Luke 23:56 "And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment."

Isn't it amazing how these women could be taught by Rabbi Jesus/Yehoshua for 3.5 years or so and still be JUDAIZING????????!!!!! (Tongue in cheek)!!!

That all sounds nice but it to impossible to go back and set a time when an earthquake happened. What we know is that the Lord was crucified and was in the grave for three days and three nights and then rose from the dead. The crucifixion could not have been on Friday. That is tradition not bible teaching. Here is an article in two parts that lays out how it happened.

CHRONOLOGY OF THE CRUCIFIXION WEEK
Radio Sermons
by Wayne Carver
The Christian Jew Foundation

Foreword

The Lord Jesus Christ clearly said in Matthew 12:38-40 that He would spend "three days and three nights in the heart of the earth," just as Jonah had spent "three days and three nights" in the belly of the great fish. Isn't it strange, however, that almost universally throughout Christendom we find that the remembrance of Christ's crucifixion is held on "Good Friday" and that His resurrection is acknowledged as occurring on Sunday morning, at dawn? By no stretch of the imagination or masterful manipulation of Scripture is it possible to stretch the period from Friday evening to Sunday morning into "three days and three nights"! Many have attempted to do so and millions of Christians have accepted this viewpoint; but in all honesty, it just can't be done.

There are two vital issues at stake: the trustworthiness of the Bible and the Deity of Jesus Christ. If the Lord only spent 36 hours in the grave--from Friday at 6 PM until Sunday at 6 AM--then the Bible is not correct and the Lord Jesus is a false prophet. And if this is true, then we are foolish to believe the Bible and to follow Christ. We would be just as well off becoming Buddhists, Muslims or atheists.

So you see, this is no small matter. As a Bible-believing Christian who openly and unashamedly professes the Deity of Jesus Christ, I make no apology for standing on the Word of God and against the teaching of men--even sincere, godly men--who have explained away the prophecy of our Lord and the clear statement of Scripture. For in so doing they have committed a terrible act against the integrity of the Christian faith. I believe that diligent study of the Word of God will yield the truth, and this is what we seek.
