Has Obama directed more resources to the murder capitol since being POTUS?
"In a city with as many as 90 shootings a week, homicides this year are on track to hit their highest level since 1997.
Chicago's murder clearance rate, a measurement of solved and closed cases, is one of the country's lowest, another sign of problems besetting police in the third biggest city in the United States."
"Chicago struggles to solve murders because of declining numbers of detectives, the high number of cases per detective and because witnesses mistrust the police and fear retaliation from gangs."

I served 22.5 years as a police officer, 10 as a criminal investigator, 3 of those
10 as Chief of Investigations.
Murders are NOT that hard to solve. Prosecution might be difficult at times, but
the act itself is isn't that much of a challenge.
These sad Chicago statistics make me believe the "heart" has gone out of the
Police force.
Once that happens it's very difficult to turn things around.
One would think Obama would put more emphasis on rescuing Chicago from the
grip of evil.
Families without fathers, an indifferent family attitude, lack of inspiration for the youth to excel ....and more.
Shameful it is.

The focus of the Obama administration and the left in general when it comes to social issues has never been on strengthening the traditional procreative family. It is a sad fact that the greatest White privilege that now exists is a father who shares a roof with his wife and progeny. That kind of family is a minority in the inner city.
Thhe focus of the administration has nevertheless not concerned itself with any of that. Social policy has all been upon gay marriage and finding different places for people to pee.

The focus of the Obama administration has never been on ways to strengthen the police presence in crime-ridden neighborhoods. It has all been about the containing the problem of police violence against minority communities, and discrediting the police in general.

Obama has focused, without much legislative success, on more gun laws to make lawful ownership of guns more difficult and more rare. When it comes to actually enforcing those laws though, the Obama administration has focused on the racism involved in actually taking guns out of the hands of criminals, much like had been happening in the NYC city Stop and Frisk.

Of course, laws without enforcement are like window displays. They are all for show.

I guess that the one thing that Obama has done to help lower the inner city crime rate is give the utmost support to inner city abortion clinics. Consider that a preemptive strike against tomorrow's street gang killers.

Obama isn't supposed to do anything. It is really up to him what he does and doesn't do.
He is president, after all. Nobody tells him what to do or not to do. He does what he want, because he won.

Maybe a more careful reread is in order. More targeted policing would result in criminals having less guns, rather than more. Disarm the gangs. Your paraphrase of what I said is the exact opposite of what I actually said.
That has led to a real failure in communication. It is essential that we actually read each other rather than read into what each other is saying

Focusing on how essential fathers are to the integrity of families and bringing down the crime rate would be a much better use of presidential and government resources than focusing on the human rights issue of which porcelain in bathrooms is politically correct to put under one's bum. What a waste of bandwidth and government resources that has been!
Finding ways to strengthen the family is critical to any eventual success that there is going to be in lowering the rate of gang violence and gang membership in the inner city. Everything else is a bandaid solution. One speech on one Fathers day in eight years is hardly showing the black community the kind of leadership that is needed on this issue.

My point on abortion is not that it was evil. My point on abortion followed the argument of abortionist Henry Morgentaller that abortion has helped bring down the crime rate.

I personally think that the ethnic genocide that abortion has wrought on the black community in America is evil regardless, but of course that is the conservative point of view and not the point of view of Obama or liberals in general.
I was merely giving the devil his due, so to speak, by pointing out a liberal solution to crime.

It's all moot now. Trump knows the guy who can solve this problem in one week. I'm sure Trump wants to save as many lives as possible, and will begin ending the violence in the next day or two.

psychobabble.
It's meaningless to anyone with an I.Q. above a road killed

The shear number of murders and the LACK of enough detectives makes the problem of arresting the perps difficult.
The crime problems are endemic to Chicago due to a variety
of social factors.

The people of the society in the crime ridden areas are responsible for the problems.
The locals tolerate what they want to tolerate. Do you think
the locals who may have information to help solve crimes actually
give that information to the police?
Not hardly.
I base my opinions on experience and education.

The population of the city I policed was 40% ethnic.
ALL the illegal bars with harlot houses were in the ethnic
neighborhoods.
We didn't bother those "cheat spots" because the residents
WANTED them there.
Only when someone got shot or stabbed would we step in and
shut them down only to have them spring up the next day
in another location in the "hood".

I think the right has unrealistic expectations. They know Obama is busy being the anti-christ *and* he's busy trying to take away all their guns, *and* he's plotting to declare a state of emergency so he can stay on for a third term, but he's also supposed to find the time to look after Chicago. Come on, let's get real.
