i gotta give Jacob some props. he's good people.and having a reviewing gig at anti is pretty sweet. the anti-boss is super easy going, and they get in some pretty decent cds from time to time.

'sbeen a while since i went thru the process, can't remember what the turnaround time is on that.

i can't even remember what happened, how the process works-i think when i clicked on the link way back when, i got a generic form letter email saying 'write a CD review & submit it to this address' & that was the application process. Has the process changed?

They asked me to send in a blank email and that I would quickly get an application emailed back to me.

I sent the blank email in a couple days ago and still haven't heard from them yet.

Jeff -- I certainly hope you were joking about your Ween comment in your profile.

I think it's impossible to hate every Ween song. Every album is so different, I think anyone can find at least a handful of songs that are listenable, if not enjoyable.

I think Ween is one of those bands you shouldn't try to check out on your own, though. If you pick an obscure album, you can really misinterpret the rest of their material. I think it would be hard to not like The Mollusk or White Pepper, but I've had trouble getting friends into other tracks/albums by them.

I can agree with that. I'm not as fond of their early material. Some songs are pretty much unlistenable. But The Mollusk, White Pepper, and even Pure Guava and Quebec have some good poppy numbers on them. At least, poppy enough to elevate them from "nails on chalkboard" status.

awww, that's too bad

that is a real struggle, even with no deadline & the most relaxed boss on the planet. i try to write something-anything- every month, sometimes that's ez, sometimes I gotta really force meself & take away from something else- and i'm a sahm! i couldn't imagine having a job & doing it!
