if you ask me, they need a native american on the 100 dollar bill. And herrit tubman did the impossible the unthinkable she needs to be on the 50, her and nat turner. These other guys were just old men who did their job, i wish i could be on the $5 bill for working 9 - 5.

Ha ha, you almost had me!

Can we remove him from the back of the bill too? And if people really want Andrew Jackson on the bill we can make the bill show Harriet Tubman giving Andrew Jackson a spanking for being a very bad man, lol.

Benjamin Franklin was an old man who just did his job? You need to learn your history!
Old Ben is a very interesting character. Quite the ladies man in his youth. Later impersonated a woman to write advice columns in the newspaper. Partied with the French king to get support for the American Revolution. Invented a ton of stuff, some good some not so good.

Wilma Mankiller, who was a former Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, was one of the final contenders in replacing Jackson. I think it would have been amazing and ironic for her to replace Jackson. She represents both Native Americans and the Cherokee Nation. I think he may be the most hated US president in Indian Country.

I want to educate people too. Let's talk about how interesting it is that Harriet Tubman will be on the front of the twenty, and Andrew Jackson on the back. Tubman was an abolitionist who helped many slaves escape from their servitude; Andrew Jackson defied the Supreme Court and forcibly removed several Indian tribes from their homes in the southeast. But many people don't know that the indian tribes took with them thousands of black slaves......

History is fascinating.
Ah, the wonderful history lesson where white Americans are described in a manner to ignore or justify the past. When discussing the indigenous people of the Americas, group them altogether and say some of them owned slaves, so the genocide, forced removal and multitude of atrocities committed against Native Americans by the American government seems justified. Andrew Jackson also owned slaves, so what's the point in mentioning Native Americans? The simple fact is you don't care that Native Americans owned slaves. Which tribes? What was the ethnic makeup slave owners? How did the ownership of slaves compare to slave owners in the South? Was all slavery chattel slavery? People talk about education, but they're not even educated on the subject. Nope, instead you get drive-by posting with innuendo and half the facts.

Obviously, I hit a nerve; call it Narrative collapse? And where do you get that I was justifying and/or ignoring the past? From a single comment? Ah son, you read too much into a single post.

You're right, to this day native americans refuse to use the $20 bill.

Now address his post. He made many good points!

Assuming this is not a parody account (by the way if it is, bravo!), can you substantiate that Native Americans en toto refuse to use the $20 bill? Do Native American casinos ban that currency? Waiting for your answer.

To answer your assumption, that is not me. I have no idea who the other member is. But he or she is correct. Many Native Americans do refuse to use the bill.

And since you obviously did not ask me the question about the casinos, I will not answer it.

So what is this? I have to click on links and search for the answer to my question? Do any of them show that NAs en toto or en masse refuse to use the $20 bill?

BTW, I like the Sequoya bill.

Of course they do. Many native americans will tell you directly they refuse to use the $20, but of course those who have adopted the American way of life would tell you they see no problem with it.

No nerve was hit, I'm just pointing out the obvious, trying to point out the wrongs of one group while ignoring that same wrong committed by another. But your response is expected, you won't engage the subject any further.

A: Write something "clever" in a backhanded way.
B: Someone points out the misleading or incomplete argument.
C: "Why are you mad?"

There was no incomplete argument; if anything the Narrative currently thought is incomplete.

As long as we're talking irony, if we're forcing Jackson to the back of the bill, I'd have voted for Rosa Parks... ^_^

I guess it's too late to suggest Caitlyn Jenner. ^_^

BTW, how often should we be revisiting this issue? Every 50 years? 20? Does it really matter who's face is on any given currency? Will changing the face from Jackson to Tubman, (or anyone for that matter), directly affect anybody in any way? I'd be willing to bet that there are many who don't even know who's face is on all the different US currency. I look at the denomination number on the bill. That's what counts to me.

To me, this is nothing more than a political, 'social justice' move, done under the guise of 'raising awareness' and 'starting the conversation'.

It has been over 100 years since an actually woman (as opposed to Liberty) last graced our currency so thus is long overdue. At one time the design of our currency and our coins changed much more often; perhaps we need to go back to that.

You make a valid point. Perhaps we should move to specific 'term limits'. Say every 5 years or so, we start evaluating other candidates, and make the change. After all, there are hundreds, if not thousands, who could make the list.
