NOAA announced yesterday that 4 of the 5 hottest months on record have come this year, making this the hottest start to a year by far. It is prophesied in the Bible. Global warming is last plague # 4.

Where?

Planet earth. It's the third one from the sun.
Some places were abnormally hot: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/global/201505

Re: this "abnormal heat", is that why there are particulates in the atmosphere, most likely caused by the efforts (jet planes spraying) to stop "global warming", like reflecting back the heat from the sun with the aluminum, etc. sprayed in the air (amongst other things) in an effort to reduce "global warming" or to combat it?

Is this an example of why it's necessary to spray aluminum, etc. in the atmosphere?

Been keeping it cool here in the northeast. Good year when 93 is condsidered blazing, and we have been seeing low 80s most of the summer. I hear we are do for an indian summer though. I just hope it doesn't get as bitterly cold in the winter this year.

Who cares what happened a billion years ago. The 7 last plagues are said to be poured out after the great tribulation of WW II.
Seems a bit Eurocentric, that. There were more than a few populations around the world that weren't overly touched by WWII

We are apparently on course for 2015 to be the hottest on record.

Anyone know which year currently holds the record?

Yep, it's 2014.

In Alberta here, we've had less than 25% of the normal rainfall. And consistently blazing hot days. There's counties all over declaring agricultural emergencies/catastrophies. Baaad news.
We got it covered. We're 5 inches above average and have only 2 days above 90 in Ohio.

No one area can determine the mean temp for the world. So only the people checking the thermometers can say if it's hotter or colder. No chance of false information or altering the results to maintain the theory of GW. But even with GW, doesn't prove man is the cause.

It's ok, we have a ice age coming related to solar cycles. But the temp will still go up, it's in the script.

I've heard that Western Canadian forest fires are being fought by Ohio, Minnesota and other states yer neighbouring (and Mexican fighters apparently...)

If those scientist want to maintain even a SHRED of scientific credability from within their own community, you're right, small chance of false information. On the other hand, the denialist machine has not provided a data set indicating a decrease in temperatures.

I'm certainly not saying that because Western Canada is high and dry, that GW exists. Based on what I heard about the visiting firefighters, I assumed that other areas were probably not as hot+dry.

You can say anything when you manipulate or "revise" data. Meanwhile in the real world...

"But the icebreaker has been rerouted to escort commercial ships en route to resupply communities in Northern Quebec on the eastern side of Hudson Bay.
Johnny Leclair, assistant commissioner for the Coast Guard, said Tuesday conditions in the area are the worst he's seen in 20 years."

So THIS is evidence of no anthropocentric global warming? Is that your argument? Or are you just providing a news story?

p.s....third lowest on record: http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/

I am curious though, was the ice level on Frobisher Bay your bellweather for false AGW?

yeah, I know people that live there, it was very smokey a few weeks ago, and extremly hot, news was saying that they need 3 good days of constant rain to attempt to get out of the danger, and they are still a month away from the peak danger.

According to “scientist” the earth is over a billion years old. How far back do the records go?

We have temperature readout records going back a hundred years or so. This is what is meant by "records". Beyond that, we have temperature proxies, and admittedly, there have been warmer periods (Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum, anyone?). However, the current warming is unprecedentedly rapid.

You can say anything when you manipulate or "revise" data.

So... do you reject all aggregate global temperature data? Why? And how does this possibly leave you equipped to address the issue of global warming? I mean, if we leave aside temperature data... Well, how about ice data?

GlobalSeaIce.gif

Or how about sea level?

sea-level_estimates_1.preview.jpg

How about glacier extent?

GlobalGlacierVolumeChange.jpg

Or local temperature records?

Tmin_Tmax_ratio.gif

Or maybe the earth's overall energy imbalance (sorry, no swanky graphic here, but here's a paper on the subject), which straight-up tells us that more energy is coming in than is going out, and that energy has to be going somewhere.

See, the interesting thing going on is that we have all these observations which line up with a warming earth. But the temperature data available was not showing this warming. Why was this? Well, it could be that the averages are aggregated poorly. It could be that there's some natural or man-made effect (like ENSO or aerosol pollution) pushing the data down. It could be that there's some error in temperature collection. It could be that all the other data we have is a coincidence. Or it could be that all of the measurements we have are completely wrong, the earth isn't warming in any meaningful way, and conspiracy theorists are totally right.

Probably not that last one though.

Meanwhile in the real world...

With all due respect, you do realize that when Darrell Issa went into congress holding that snowball, people rightfully called him a fool, right? There's a reason for that. The fact that the earth as a whole on average is increasing does nothing to prohibit individual areas from experiencing colder temperatures.
