You can-t live in sin, i mean constant, grave sin, because that would destroy your communion with God, we need our -white garments washed by the blood o Jesus- and be filled with the Holy spirit, and what sin does, quenchs the Holy spirit, to the point if you keep sinning you end up in a bad shape if you don-t take care of things and stop trying to live like God wants. A lot of people has fallen away and it-s not nice, Jesus can welcome people back if they repent.

nope, repent of your sins is works according to Jonah 3:10. and we are not saved by works. Jesus did all the work, we just believe on him. Jesus paid it all
Salvation is not by works, faith however, without works is itself dead. So, what kind of faith are you preaching for Salvation?

Not a requirement for salvation or eternal life. and no the phrase "repent of your sins" is not there
James 2:
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

Everyone is a sinner. Everyone has to repent of their sins.

Jesus gave us the 'Our Father' prayer which says, "forgive us our sins".

Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17)

How to become a born again child of God. Is by belief in Jesus, believing that Jesus is who He says He is the resurrection and the life, The promised Messiah (or another way this is said) The only begotten Son of God.

A person believes this about Jesus and they cross over from death to life and will not come into Judgment (at the great white throne). They become a born again child of God.

Repentance is not a condition God has given humanity, that people must do to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life. The only condition is belief in Jesus. Receiving Eternal Life is a simple and beautiful gift God is giving people who ant this free gift.

This is disgusting. Nowhere in the bible does it say the phrase repent of your sins. and nowhere does it say repent of your sins to be saved. the Bible says you must Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved, Acts 16:31 that's it. not repent from all your sins, stop sinning, give up drinking, etc. ppl add in works, Jonah 3:10 says turning from evil way is works. salvation is faith alone, Jesus paid it all, these people say "repent of your sins to be saved" no you repent of your sins buddy, the sin of a false gospel being preached. being a false prophet is the worst sin there is it's this wicked works salvation garbage that people want to add works to salvation. Jonah 3:10 says turning from evil way is works. salvation is faith alone, Jesus paid it all. anyone who wants to add to the simple gospel , that is wicked.

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Repent from unbelief to belief in other words, change your mind and follow Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Once this happens, His Holy Spirit will dwell in the believer and work the rest through with His truth and conviction.
In Peter's words:

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit

The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent ye and believe the Gospel

My issue is with those who say you must repent from all sin before you can be saved. It cannot be done. If an unsaved/unregenerate person could successfully repent from all sin before being born again, that would indicate they are already godly and do not need to be saved. The only thing that will happen if you try to repent from sin before you are born again is you will fail. That is by design. The whole purpose is to show you that you cannot be saved by the law, not because it is bad, but because you cannot do it!
After you are born again, you have the seed of God in your spirit and the potential to be godly.
The Bible never states that God's law was given with the intention for us to try to become saved as the result of having first obeyed God's law or to show us that we can't do that. Our salvation from sin would be incomplete if we were only saved from the penalty of our sin while we continued to live in sin, so there must be an aspect of our salvation from sin that we are experiencing in the present, and the purpose of the law is to graciously teach us how to have that experience. In Titus 2:11-13, our salvation is described as being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly. In Psalms 119:29-30, he wanted to put false ways far from him, for God to be gracious to him by teaching him to obey His law, and he chose the way of faith by setting it before him, so this has always been the one and only way of salvation by grace through faith.

In Romans 10:5-10, it references Deuteronomy 30:11-20 as the word of faith that we proclaim in regard to saying that God's law is not too difficult for us to obey, in regard to saying that obedience to it brings life and a blessing, in regard to what we are agreeing to obey by confessing that Jesus is Lord, and in regard to the way to believe that God raised him from the dead (Titus 2:14), so the reason why we aren't saved as the result of having first obeyed God's law is not because that was designed to be too difficult for us to do, but because God's law was never given for that purpose in the first place, rather the experience of being a doer of God's law is intrinsically part of the content of what the gift of salvation is. This is why Paul can deny in Romans 4:1-5 that we can earn our justification as the result of our obedience while also affirming in Romans 2:13 that only doers of the law will be justified.

This is disgusting. Nowhere in the bible does it say the phrase repent of your sins. and nowhere does it say repent of your sins to be saved.
It states if we walk in darkness the truth is not even in us. So one is not saved in that case regardless.

I John 1:6 "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:"

Anyone that sins without that change of heart and mind (repentance) is walking in darkness. You haven't reached repentance yet.

I John 1:7 "But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin."

This verse tells us that without a doubt only if we walk in the light will Christ clean us from all sin. Anyone who continues to sin without changing their minds about that sin will not have those sins washed away.

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
This has nothing to do with changing your mind about sinning. It doesn't state the person can go on sinning the rest of his life without caring. Where is sin included in this verse?

We all fall short but repentance (change of mind, to think differently) has to be there.

Christ states if we love him, keep his commandments. He even states we can hang all of them on loving God with all your heart and soul and loving your neighbor as yourself.

What true Christian does not love Christ?

And if you don't want to follow those two commandments, why are you calling yourself a Christian if you haven't changed your mind? (repented) Looking for that free ticket? That's pretty sad seeing how big a price that Christ paid.

Yes, we believe he died on the cross for our sins but we are also to believe in him, believe in what he taught, entrusting what he taught is the truth and so on. His ministry gives us many things to believe in.

Ok. Did I understand this incorrectly? Your view of "work" is contradicted by this below and many biblical scholars. One is led to repentance by God, It is a desire he places in you. Just another view ....

Acts 3:19 ESV

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,

Acts 2:38 ESV

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 4:17 ESV

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Acts 17:30 ESV

The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent,

2 Peter 3:9 ESV

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

1 John 1:9 ESV

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Luke 13:3 ESV

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

Acts 11:18 ESV

When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

Mark 1:15 ESV

And saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Matthew 3:2 ESV

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

and it takes the glory away from Jesus, what Jesus did on the cross, and his death burial resurecction, and it places all the emphasis on the indiviudal. Jesus death wasn't enough, you have to keep the commandments, keep doing works until the end. the gospel is all about you doing the works instead of Jesus paid it all. also yes it is unrealistic because we sin everyday even the thought of foolishness is sin and James 2:10 says "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." Galatians 5:3 “For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.”
In Titus 2:11-13, our salvation is described as being trained by grace to do what is godly, righteous, and good, and to renounce doing what is ungodly, so God graciously teaching us to do those works is intrinsically part of the content of His gift of salvation and someone who refuses to participate in doing those works is refuse to gift of salvation. Moreover, in Titus 2:14, Jesus gave himself to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so becoming zealous for doing good works in obedience to God's law is not taking glory away from Jesus, but rather it is the way to believe in what he accomplished through the cross and to give all of the glory to him.

if people want to keep the law for salvation, they have to keep all the laws perfectly which is impossible because only God is good and for people to say they don't sin or they turned from all sins, would be calling themselves God which is blasphemy (a sin).

And to those who say "I don't sin anymore" or "I turned from my sin, I don't even have the temptation to sin, when I got saved it all went away" the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
It not that we need to have first kept God's law in order to earn salvation as the result, but that the experience of getting to live in obedience to God's law is intrinsically part of what the gift of salvation is. Even if someone managed to live in perfect obedience to God's law, then they still would not earn their salvation as the result because God's law was never given as a way of earning our salvation. In James 2:1-11, he was speaking to people who had already sinned by showing favoritism, so he was not telling them that they needed to have perfect obedience because that would have already been too late, and he was not discouraging them from trying to keep God's law, but rather he was encouraging them to repent and to obey God's law more consistently. The fact that we can repent after we have sinned and still be saved even though we have not had perfect obedience to God's law demonstrates that perfect obedience to it was never a requirement for us.

There is a difference between the idea of saving all of humanity and saving an individual person. Before Jesus, all of humanity was at risk. Everybody gets wiped out. After Jesus, the risk shifts to individuals. No longer is everybody at risk.

Now everything is on us. No more blaming God. We're in trouble.

The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.
14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Matthew 7:13-14 shows that most people are still in serious trouble. The "destruction" here references the harvests that hit shortly before Jesus arrives and establishes the kingdom of heaven on Earth.

But not Christians. Yes, Christians.

The parable of the talents
Matthew 25:26 “But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown [harvest tares], and gather where I have not scattered seed [more harvesting of tares].
Matthew 25:30 And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness [hell]. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

The servant was too lazy to get out of the way of the harvests. He gets tossed into hell.

So one can continue to live in sin, commit sins, but as long as he truly believes, his sins do not count do not count against him?
when a saved believer commits sins then they will be punished by God on this Earth, chastened by God, just like a Father punishes his son when he doesn't obey him, but he doesn't kick you out of the family. So unless you want a miserable life on this Earth and to be punished, possibly taken home early, then go ahead and sin freely, but the bible says "Shall we continue in Sin so grace will abound God forbid". but if we do sin grace will abound Romans 5:20 You will always be God's child once you're born into the family of God. Jesus said ye must be born again, not again and again and again.

Nobody is saying you *should* live wickedly but the reality is we all sin after salvation due to our flesh, old man, and that doesn't mean we lose our salvation because God promises eternal life to whosoever believeth in Jesus. and the bible says what must we do to be saved? Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Yes, but the difference is changing one's mind- to think differently. It's obvious you don't really understand the true definition of repentance.

If we've achieved true repentance, we "don't want to give in to sin anymore" Will we fall short and sin? Yes, of course but the change of heart has to be there.

Do you still "want" to sin against God? If so, you aren't thinking differently and have not come to repentance yet. That's the true definition of repentance. Sometimes that takes a long time, especially with problem sins but God is the heart knower, he knows our minds.

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

All of these verses still in no way states that we should continue to walk in darkness. Christ would state sin no more but you would state the opposite. We have sin, yes but we are not to walk in darkness -just not caring. We have to be in the light in order for those sins to be washed away.

Those justified by faith do not want to walk in darkness. And if we do walk in darkness the truth is not in us.

And if we do sin, we have that advocate. But repentance is part of that.

If you haven't changed your mind, why do you call yourself a Christian? Only belief that he died on the cross? That's it?

Only thing is that's not it. The wages of sin is death, period. And belief in Christ means we are to believe in everything he taught. He paid the price for one and all time for our sins but belief goes farther than that. We have to believe what he taught. And the disciples/apostles taught repentance as well.

II Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

You think repentance is disgusting but that's why the Lord is so long suffering.

What I find most strange is that you can start a thread and state that you're not right with God if you forsake Church but believe you can go on sinning without repentance (change of mind/heart) and be right with God. That makes no sense to me.

The ultimate call to successful repentance is:
Matthew 5:48 KJV
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

If you claim to have successfully repented from all sin to this degree and have become perfect as our Father in heaven, then you have done something scripture says you cannot do. I suspect you are simply kidding yourself.
