I think you would do as good if not better job than any in there. But... You are right, the two party system has things sewn up. Have you ever thought about running for your congressional representative seat? If you win that you may find a way into the state senate, and maybe from there a serious run for the president.

Thus becoming part of the establishment that is responsible for the mess we are in. I don't want to go in with pockets lined with other peoples money and special interests.

Forgive me...

Yes, why bother with getting any experience in the field prior to asking for the top job.

I also see you're wanting 2 years mandatory service for everyone, no Exceptions (From your FB Page)
Is this for both male & female?
What about medical disabilities ? You say no Exceptions ?

So are you going to cut back on Veteran's services after that or provide the same services for every citizen that serves
Currently there's about 1.4 Million people serving, by making Every Single person serve that will grow the standing military to about
8.5 Million (in 2007 there was about 4.25 Million Age 18, 4.25 Million Age 19)
And how will you budget for a 6 fold increase in the military (not counting those that stay in past age 19)

I said for everyone qualified. Medical would disqualify a person.

My idea of Veteran Services is to open base privileges to the honorably discharged. Not to mention closing the VA and letting people go to private doctors, paid for through Champus.

Forgive me...

Without knowing me, you could come away with that conclusion. To say I have no legal experience is just a lack of information. I am very well studied on law and procedure.

What people are most exasperated by now is the status quo, so they are choosing people who are not Congressmen and Senators to represent them at the top level.

What experience in the field does Donald Trump or Dr. Ben Carson have?

Forgive me...

Have you held an elected office at the local, state or federal level?

Zero, yet another reason I would not vote for them.

I note that you did not offer any kind of plan to pay for the 600% increase in military personnel.

I'm not for ditching peoples coverage, I'm for getting rid of forcing the individual to buy it or else.

Here's how it works:

Unless you are for SINGLE PAYER you are probably looking at a system that keeps the INSURANCE companies in the mix.

NOW, if you don't want people to be denied coverage for things like "Pre-existing conditions" or "lifetime caps" to coverage AND you want to control the cost of insurance you have to provide something to the insurance companies so they will be able to SURVIVE as you put limits on how they can control their costs.

This is, unfortunately how insurance works. You CANNOT simultaneously ask them to control their costs AND increase coverage to everyone without some give and take.

Insurance works on a RISK POOL basis. If insurance costs go up many healthy people will risk it and go without health insurance. THIS means that the insurance companies will be left covering SICKER and SICKER folks meaning they will pay out MORE MONEY. Ultimately if they can't increase the premiums or they can't put in limits like pre-existing conditions and lifetime caps, they will GO OUT OF BUSINESS. They will pay out more than they take in.

This is how insurance works.

It is also exactly how the INDIVIDUAL MANDATE you are complaining about works. It is NECESSARY to force people into the insurance pool so that more people who are healthier will pay into the pool.

I understand that you are unhappy with this situation, the Conservative who invented the concept back in the 1990's were apparently not happy with it. But it's the only way to make the insurance-based healthcare reform work.

So perhaps you want to come out firmly in favor of Single payer?

If I understand it, it's a package deal. But yes, we are in need of changes, but they can't involve fines for people not taking part. Agreed?

Sorry to break it to you, but you won't really be able to control insurance costs unless you give them something like the Individual Mandate.

Your best hope is to back Single Payer.

What experience in the field does Donald Trump or Dr. Ben Carson have?

None. And neither of them should come any closer to the office of POTUS than being on a public tour of the White House. Both men are uniquely unqualified for any elected public office, especially the Presidency of the United States.

Actually I think the best portion of that poster is the "Let's seem the vote down veteran benefits after that." I suspect that's the important bit.

The fact of the matter is many of our most vociferous Hawks in various administrations have been folks who either deferred the draft or found ways for their kids to do so.

It's sickening when they call for war but have never been in it themselves. When they send our young men and women into harms way without the best armor (or any armor!) and then play it off as "the army you have not the army you want."

THAT is the true shame in our government today.

And watch the GOP debates. It's non-stop "Who are we gonna attack NEXT?" It's non-stop warmongering and talks about horror and threats to America.

We forgot what peace was and now we serve Mars.

I have never run for office before. I got to the point that I had to do something. Even if it seems silly, I can say I did "something" to try and correct the direction of this nation.

Forgive me...

Ok, what are your qualifications?
