Good morning,

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

My girlfriend is a Christian and I myself am not. Lately she says she has been struggling to see a life together with a secular person. She worries that I won't go to heaven and that I will not get on with her Christian friends and not be able to offer her the kind of guidance she needs.

I am very open minded and have said I'm happy to go along to church with her, learn things and I'm open to being Christian myself. It'll just take time and I'm concerned the longer it goes on the more she will worry.

Is there anything I can say or do to help alleviate her fears? Anything I can do to give her support?

Thank you.

M

I believe letting your faith in God, your relationship with your GF and your GF's relationship with you all grow naturally. If they were meant to be they will be. Take care:)

Hello,

I think she would likely be encouraged by seeing you learning or asking about Christianity. The only good reason to become a Christian is because Christianity is true, so you shouldn't feel compelled to become one just to continue your relationship with your girlfriend, but if Christianity is true, then it is very important, so you owe it to yourself and to her to try to investigate whether it is true as objectively as you can. I recommend starting with reading Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis:

Also Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels by J. Warner Wallace:

Your girlfriend is correct in her thinking:

"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14).

I admire that you care about your girlfriend, but its far more important that you seek the truth of existence. I know that Jesus is the truth. I pray that you will learn this to be true as well. You will be a far greater asset to your girlfriend if you convert.

Hi, you are fortunate to find a good Christian girl. I understand her concern. As has already been said you shouldn't convert simply to please her. You have to find faith in God for yourself. Start by going to Church and reading your bible. God Bless!

As a young man I fell in love with a beautiful Christian girl, but I as an unbeliever could never begin to hope I could approach her. In time, I found I was more in love with her faith, than I was with her. Of what value is her faith to you? It will either become a burden or a blessing.

Dear Mike, I think it's amazing for an agnostic to tell his gf that he's willing to go to church with her and learn about her faith. I think this is very generous of you and admirable and she should recognise that willingness Mike. It would be wrong of her to ask for more
