PEOPLE OF GOD

Are the Jews still people of GOD? This question has been presented at the SundayBibleSchool. And as a conclusion he added, “Jews lost their privileges, and they are no longer people of GOD.”

I heard same thing long time ago when I was watching one religious channel on TV. The Catholic priest actually admitted that they (Catholics) have been wrong by declaring that Jews no longer people of GOD, but they still are.

This admission of the priest actually surprised me, because I even never thought or imagine what someone would say such thing, more over indoctrinate such despicable lie as a church dogma.

And now again, many years later I herd it again that Jews no longer people of GOD, but this time not from the Catholics, but from “Adventist”. And I wonder who were else believes in such falsehood?

So I looked at the Bible to find the evidence of such claim. Indeed, I found number of places in the Old Testament there it said that when GOD being angry with His people Israel told them that they are no longer His people, and He will forsake them, and He will abandon them.

But at closer examination I also found that such statements have been said only at times when Israel turned away from their GOD, worship other gods, and did not followed His Laws and His Commandments.

But immediately after suffering from the punishment of GOD, after they cried to GOD asking for forgiveness, and cleansed their land from all pagan abominations, and began observing His Statutes and Commandments, the Lord GOD accepted them back without any delay and blessed them generously, and this pattern I noticed throughout entire Old Testament.

This means that when GOD said, “You are no longer My people”, and “I abandoning you”, or “Forsake you”, these words of GOD means that He abandoning, and forsake them to their enemies, to diseases, to hunger, to violence, to the sword, expelling them from their land as captives, making them slaves, and so on.

But as soon as they repented from the heart, asked Him for forgiveness, and stop violating His Statutes and Commandments, He immediately takes them back as His people, blesses them, and cares for them, just like any other good and decent earthly father would do to his disobedient sons, discipline them and forgiving them again and again.

Deuteronomy 8.5

5.Know then in your heart that as a parent disciplines a child, so the Lord your GOD disciplines you.

Psalms 94.12

12.Happy are those whom Youdiscipline O Lord, and Whom You teach out of Your Law.

Proverbs 3.12

12.the Lord reproves one He loves, as a father the son in whom He delights.

Proverbs 23.13-14

13.Do not withhold discipline from your children, if you beat them with a rod they will not die.

14.If you beat them with the rod you will save their lives from Sheol.

It is also very evident from the Bible that the Lord GOD never spoke such words as, “You are no longer My people”, or “I abandoning you”, or “Forsake you”, about all generations of Hebrews, but He only said these words to those generations what did not following Him, and subsequently He punished them for their transgression and sins against Him, by forsake them and abandoning them to their enemies.

Leviticus 26.40-42

40."If they (Israel) confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their forefathers in their unfaithfulness which they committed against Me, and also in their acting with hostility against Me,

41.I also was acting with hostility against them to bring them into the land of their enemies, or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled, so that they then make amends for their iniquity,

42.then I will remember My Covenant with Jacob, and I will remember also My Covenant with Isaac, and My Covenant with Abraham as well, and I will remember the land.

I also noticed while studying this subject that the Covenant of GOD with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and with their descendants after them, is ETERNAL. Such words as ETERNAL, or FOREVER, or EVERLASTING, appears very often there the word Covenant is mentioned. So this means that the Covenant of GOD with His people Israel is ETERNAL-FOREVER-EVERLASTING, for all times and for all generations to come. Israel numerous times broke their Covenant with GOD, but not the Lord, He still remains faithful to His Covenant with His people, otherwise He would be like them.

2Timothy 2.13

13.If we are faithless, He remains faithful, He cannot deny Himself.

1Samuel 12.22

22.The Lord will not abandon His people ON ACCOUNT OF HIS GREAT NAMEbecause the Lord has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.

2Samuel 7.16 (Words of GOD to David)

16.”And your house and you kingdom shall endure before Me FOREVER, your throne shall be established FOREVER"

(2Samuel 7.13.16) (1Chronicles 17.12.14, 22.10, 28.7-8)

Certain picture has been portrait in the Old Testament where GOD declared Himself as a Husband, and His people as His bride which became unfaithful to Him, gone astray, and committed adultery. But as a faithful Husband to her He patiently wait for her return to Him, which eventually will happen sooner or later, and she (Israel) never again will wander away from Him.

But the most amazing things about future of the people of Israel and their relationship with their GOD are written in the prophecies. And here only few of them:

Jeremiah 24.7

7.”And I will give them *a heart to know Me,I am the Lord, and they will be My people and I will be their GOD, they will return to Me with their whole heart.”

*New heart: (2Chronicles 30.12) (Psalm 40.7-8)(Jeremiah 24.7, 30.22, 31.33, 32.38.40) (Hebrews 10.16-17) (2Corinthians 3.3)

Jeremiah 32.38.40

38.”And they shall be My people and I will be their GOD,

40.And I will make an *Everlasting Covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them to do them good, and I will put the fear of Me in their hearts, so that they will not turn away from Me.”

*New Covenant:(Isaiah 54.10, 61.1) (Jeremiah 31.31-34, 32.37-41) (Ezekiel 16.59-60.62) (Malachi 3.1) (Hebrews 4.6, 8.6-13)

1Peter 2.9-10

9.But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for GOD'S Own possession, that you may proclaim the excellences of Him Who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

10.You once were not a people, but now you are the people of GOD, you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

Revelation 21.2.22-23

2.And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from GOD, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

22.And I saw no Temple in it(in Jerusalem which came down from Heaven), the Lord GOD the Almighty and the Lamb Are its Temple.

23.And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine upon it,the glory of GOD has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.(Isaiah 60.19-20) (Zechariah 14.6-7) (Revelation 21.23, 22.5)

And here is a question for those who think that the people of Israel no longer have their GOD because, “they lost their privilege” as one liar said at Sunday school. And now the question: Why then GOD would make a new Jerusalem, and put it in the place of the old one, and shine on it by His Own Light if the Jews no longer His people?

Is it would be more logical to put His own holy heavenly Temple among “His people” in Philadelphia, or Paris, or Berlin, or London, or in Rome for example, or somewhere in Asia or Africa?

Why then in the future GOD will even recall and bring David back to rule over His people Israel forever? (Jeremiah 30.9) (Ezekiel 34.23-24, 37.24-25) (Hosea 3.4-5)

Taking to account that these prophecies about David had been made roughly between 600 and 700 years after David’s death.

Why GOD would write His Laws on the hearts of His people if they are no longer His? I have many other similar questions to ask according to the context of all the passages above and according to those numerous verses which are not included on this page. Perhaps it would be too many questions to ask, and unnecessary to ask, because the Word of GOD always reveal the liar by its own truth.

Luk 20:9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
Luk 20:10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
Luk 20:11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
Luk 20:12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
Luk 20:13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
Luk 20:14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
Luk 20:15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
Luk 20:16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

Sounds a whole lot like God has put new people in charge of His vineyard.

Mat 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

Just in case the vineyard reference was a bit vague, here Jesus spelled it out for them...and for us. There doesn't seem to be an ifs, buts, or maybes here...the kingdom of God is taken away from them and given to another nation.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Nothing vague here, either. Just one way to the Father, and that is by the Son. No back doors for Jews...they will also have to come to the Father by the Son.

Did God desert His chosen people? No...He came to them, just as He had promised that He would. And, just as they had done in the time of Samuel, they rejected Him.

Mat 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

What a horrible, horrible cry this was! Ooh...makes me shudder even 20 centuries later!
Does this have anything to do with what the Jews have suffered since?
I do not know...but history seems to have worked itself out just as one might have expected, if indeed, that cry could be taken seriously...

In Galatians Paul destroys the Judaizers proud positing of their privilege as God's chosen people, identifiying themselves as "Israel" by racial, national and religious heritage. He explains that the completed work of God in Christ on the cross (6:12,14) makes all things new, forming a spiritual "new creation" (6:15) wherein believers in Christ comprise the real community of "Israel" (6:16).

Mat 21:43Therefore say I unto you,The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

This is absolutely true, but you, like many others, generalized and pointed to whole nation of Israel rather than only to those who rejected the Christ. Those who rejected Christ where are the leaders of Israel, and He referred this statement to them, but large majority of the Jews accepted Christ and followed Him by the thousands.

And here is a question for you. If you think that this single statement rejected Jews as people of GOD and according to you Christians became His people, tell me, what Christians have done to deserve it? Are they better than Jews in their behavior before the Lord?

Do you think that because people believe in Christ they become His people? Is it not the James wrote that even demons believe and fear the Lord? So this means that believing alone is not enough, it must be something else. It something else is Faith, which many “Christians”, just like Jews who lived before them, do not have.

And corruption, hypocrisy, greed, and other evil things of Christians no different than of those committed by Jews before their GOD. So what the Christians done so far to deserve to be the people of GOD if they are the same sinners as the Jews before their GOD?

Jews still are people of GOD and will be forever, but only those who accepted the Christ as their Messiah, and true Christians also are people of GOD who following Christ as He has commanded them, in truth, compassion, mercy, and love.

Christians do not replaced the Jews as people of GOD, they are joined Jews as the people of GOD and become one people and one nation under the Lord, and all are children of GOD.

Because if GOD blesses, He blesses Jews first and then the Christians, and if He curses, He curses Jews first and then the Christians.

People of Israel will remain as His priestly nation forever, and will serve the Lord in the future in His Heavenly Temple in Jerusalem as His priests forever. Because the history of humankind will make it’s full circle and will be complete in Jerusalem, from which the knowledge and worship of GOD truly began in earnest.

You have to do one think in order to confirm that Jews are no longer people of GOD.

Jeremiah 33.19-21

19.And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah saying,

20.this says the Lord, "If you can break My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night will not be at their appointed time,

21.then My Covenant may also be broken with David My servant, that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests My ministers.

GOD did not only choose Israel but He created it for His Own Glory.

Isaiah 43.1-7.15.21.25

1.Israel "Do not fear, I have redeem you, I have called you by name, you are Mine!

2.When you pass through the waters I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overflow you, when you walk through the fire you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you.

3.I am the Lord your GOD, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in your place.

4.Since you are precious in My sight, since you are honored, and I love you,I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for you life.

5.Do not fear, I am with you, I will bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from the west.

6.I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' And to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring My sons from afar and My daughters from the ends of the Earth,

7.everyone who is called by My name, and whom I have created for My glory, whom I have formed, even whom I have made.

15.I am the Lord your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.'

21.The people whom I formed for Myself will declare My praise.

25.I, even I, am the One Who wipes out your transgressions for My Own sake, and I will not remember your sins.”

PEOPLE OF GOD

Are the Jews still people of GOD? ...

Here is one scripture that can help to know who are God’s children, or His people.

Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever is born of God doesn't commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can't sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn't do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn't love his brother.

If we believe that God is omniscient and omnipotent then it follows that He doesn't have to change His mind. If He says something it has got to stay that way.

Really? So God can never change the way He does things? He is locked into always doing things as He has done in the past??

It's not a matter of being locked in should things change. He is omniscient and can see the future. Therefore his choices are the best for all time and never need to change.

What did you think of the scriptures I posted?

That "God does not change" refers to His unchanging nature. God is perfect in Himself and does not change because He has no need to change. What it does not mean is that God is limited to acting as He has always acted in the past. God does not change in who He is, but He certainly can and does change His modus operandi.

I expect we agree that God never makes a mistake?
So if the EXACT same situation occurs He would then have to do the same or He did it wrong the first time.

When God promises that something will be forever, he doesn't break those promises. Sorry, no can do. Please see the scriptures I posted earlier.
