At this point, I would trust personal anecdotes over wild rants gleaned from low-quality inflammatory media outlets. I also know a number of trans people and don't see what the big deal is. For whatever reason, the folks I've known have nearly all been men transitioning to women, and they've all been inclined to over-share about their experience (I'm starting to wonder if there's a hormonal thing behind the sharing, because it's starting to look like a pattern). And it's not about the act of sex or who they get to have sex with. I've known people who were really into ~sex~ and this is not that. For all of the trans people I've known, it's been about personal identity and finally feeling comfortable with themselves.

To those of us who know trans people, the vitriol coming from the right just looks like more of the ignorant bigotry that they spew at outside groups all the time. Every 5-10 years you guys pick a new group to hate on and trans people happen to be the targets du jour.

I watched interviews of trans people explaining it all.

The current objections are men invading women's sports and private spaces, being told how to talk, and transexualism being foisted on school children.

I suppose your're right. To me they're just friends and acquaintances. Perhaps that has blinded me to the truth that they are degenerate sex-crazed monsters after my children.

Most of the time people don't realize someone is a child molester until it's too late. So someone not seeming like whatever isn't always the best metric to go by.

You said that you cancelled your membership - I assumed that was to protest their action, which was to cancel the membership of somebody who violated club rules by taking photos in the locker room.

They're nothing alike. Robin Williams didn't make a career and lifestyle out of playing Mrs. Doubtfire. And Truitt, as pointed out already, is the exception the rarity. All the other drag queens were astonished by it.

Getting back to Mrs. Doubtfire and Tootsie etc, those where one off movie roles and therefore are hardly comparable to drag queens.

No, I asked if they were being made to read these. As I understood from other posts, this particular case was a book found in the library? Perhaps I'm mixing things up with some other case. If it's a book in a school library, I hardly see the outrage here. If it's not age appropriate, than the librarians should just deal with the matter and if it's a book in a library, the amount of kids who will even know it exists is vanishingly small. Details have been quite lacking in this thread about what exactly this case was about.

It's happening in schools all over the place. It's clear that the woke left and LGBTQIA2+ wants children reading graphic erotica and are throwing tantrums over it being banned from schools. There are US Senate hearings over it. Go to YouTube and look up Senator John Kennedy reads from children's books. I can't post such a video here because what he reads out loud from children's school books is way too obscene.
