No, they're not just trans, they're trying to influence public policy. That's political.
So nothing trans people say about being trans is true. You're taking the "lies, all lies!" route?

I'm not in favor of it, particularly, and perhaps it should be better policed. But I have a hard time seeing it as a cosmic disaster. I certainly would rather have my son looking at pictures of naked women than playing a violent video game. The level of violence commonplace in those games would absolutely harm him more than any erotic story he is likely to find in a school library. It's only sex, after all, not the most important thing in life.
Rationalizing, trivializing and defending.

My position is that neither of the extremes will be entirely reliable, Neither yours nor that of "trans activists."

Just wondering how long before this exercise in repetetive arguments reaches 4 figures.
It's pretty funny that you keep making comments like that in threads you're highly prolific in, combined with your propensity to keep taking debates back to square one.

I think for the most part you don't know what you're talking about and you're just doing a lot of uninformed surmising. Basically what I'm doing a lot of the time is arguing with your imagination.

Of course, I actually know real trans people well enough to talk personally with them about it, and I also know that the business about "converting children" is a prurient paranoid fantasy.

I seriously doubt that you're personally interviewing trans people about being trans. You seem too in the dark about it for one thing.
and I also know that the business about "converting children" is a prurient paranoid fantasy.
And yet it's being compared to religion by so many proponents.

Taking it back to square one I guess is one way of saying that I am constantly trying to get any given poster (no names) to expand on what they have posted. A quick run through the last few pages of this thread shows that you have complained about drag artists and books as being part of some demonic scheme to convert children to the dark side 18 times. That's not 18 posts of considered opinions. That's not 18 posts of any reasonable argument. That's 18 posts saying almost exactly the very same thing every time: 'This is terrible!'

No nuance. No thoughtful examination of any variety of multiple scenarios. Just simple repetition that the end is nigh. It's the forum equivalent of a bumper sticker. It's why threads like this hit 3,000+ posts. It's the same thing page after page.

Edit: You threw in another couple in the last hour, so add those as well.

And how many of those did you reply to? You're your own worse enemy when it comes to your complaint about threads and other posters. A main contributor to what you incessantly carp about. It's like someone who drives a Humvee complaining about other people wasting gas. I find it pretty amusing. Wasting bandwidth complaining about people wasting bandwidth lol.

That's because I stick to my guns. I'm saying If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck. People throw a variety of multiple nuanced scenarios at me, but it's still ends up being a duck. Because that's what it is.

You say I'm calling it an attempt to convert children, while multiple people are comparing it to religion, namely Sunday school, which is an attempt to convert children. So lots of people arguing with me are inadvertently backing up what I'm saying.

The reason why that thread went to 3000+ posts is because people kept trying make a duck into something other than a duck. A more realistic approach would be to agree that, like religion which they compare it to, it is an attempt to indoctrinate and convert children, and then argue why that's not a problem. But they're not able to get past the denial phase, so round and round it goes.

Maybe you should have checked. None in fact. Not a single one. The only reply I've made to you since these 21 posts (I've included your last one as well) is one a couple posts above this one. I've learned my lesson as to who I make the effort with to have a half decent conversation. I have better ways to waste my time.

Is that what you call chatting with friends and acquaintances about personal topics? "Interviewing?"

What a lot more augments in the form of personal anecdotes? Like "that can't be true because I met a trans person once".
At this point, I would trust personal anecdotes over wild rants gleaned from low-quality inflammatory media outlets. I also know a number of trans people and don't see what the big deal is. For whatever reason, the folks I've known have nearly all been men transitioning to women, and they've all been inclined to over-share about their experience (I'm starting to wonder if there's a hormonal thing behind the sharing, because it's starting to look like a pattern). And it's not about the act of sex or who they get to have sex with. I've known people who were really into ~sex~ and this is not that. For all of the trans people I've known, it's been about personal identity and finally feeling comfortable with themselves.

To those of us who know trans people, the vitriol coming from the right just looks like more of the ignorant bigotry that they spew at outside groups all the time. Every 5-10 years you guys pick a new group to hate on and trans people happen to be the targets du jour.

Patricia Silva was barred from the gym in Alaska after she detailed an incident online - where she said she saw a transgender woman in her locker room.
Following backlash against the ban, the company said although some members may feel uncomfortable sharing facilities, 'this discomfort is not a reason to deny access to the transgender member.'
I don't think biological men should be allowed in women's locker rooms. If a school or a gym wants to build special facilities for trans I would be fine with that.
We cancelled our membership last week. I don't believe in boycotts, but I believe in personally voting with my dollars. I learned in Business 101 that using a business or their product is economically voting for it. It's how porn continues to exist. The products that thrive in a culture are a statement on the quality of that culture.

You think they should've allowed somebody to continue taking photos inside the locker room?

I suppose your're right. To me they're just friends and acquaintances. Perhaps that has blinded me to the truth that they are degenerate sex-crazed monsters after my children.
