I believe that everyone could choose to follow Christ. I also believe that unless they are regenerate, they will not. Remember, you said that any good we do is because of His righteousness. So that would include believing in Him.

Do you believe we will still have free will to sin in heaven?

No. A person has a free will choice to choose God before they are born again and or regenerated. Choosing the LORD and repenting of one's sins is when someone becomes regenerated.

So you disagree with your earlier claim that all good we do is because of Christ's righteousness. You have an inconsistent theology.

Which shows that you have no knowledge of that which you think to oppose. No one has ever said what you accuse. Another straw man, and a deflection. God saves to the uttermost those who trust in Him. You need to let go of this idea that somehow you are in control. You're not. You can't even draw your next breath unless God allows it.

God is indeed Sovereign over many things. But God is not Sovereign over your decision to accept or reject Him, though. That doesn't make any sense to say otherwise. For if what you say is true, and there is no "free will" then God just created good people and bad people. This would mean God is the direct author of evil. But that is not possible because God is good; And there is no darkness in God.

My decision to accept Christ's love gift and to abide in Him does not in any way mean I can take the credit for my salvation. That would be like thanking yourself in being your own savior just because you grabbed the life preserver and held on tight as your rescuers reel you in to safety.

14 What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means!
15 For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.
17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."
18 So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills. - Romans 9:14-18

He actually hardens people.

Whether or not you choose to take credit isn't the point. The question is, can you do anything to please God apart from Christ?

I believe the problem today is that most churches do not teach new believers how to develop their spirit. Most folks believe that if they say the prayer of repentance and go to church on Sunday, its all good. Churches generally motivate them for the week but don't teach them anything about developing their spirit man.

This is my passion...teaching folks how to develop their spirit because I believe it is the most important thing a believer can possibly do.

I actually wrote a book called How to Develop Yout Spirit because Christians truly need to understand this. www.developyourspirit.com

Once people truly understand how to develop their spirit, they will be one with the Father and Son and will immediately know when they are out of alignment with the Word.

A person is regenerated as soon as they repent of their sins and they accept Christ. One does not need to be regenerated in order to believe. Christ draws all men unto Himself and God grants men repentance, but there is no pre-regeneration before one believes. That doesn't make any sense and does not line up with the Scriptures in any way.

You may agree or disagree, but the secret to developing one's own spirit by the power of God lies in understanding the consequences of things. If there is NO consequences in the afterlife that is really not going to matter all that much to anyone, then they would have no reason to develop their spirit. For example: If a person were to just lose rewards or if they were to be punished in some way here upon this Earth (i.e. Chastisement), they would not really be all that motivated to develop their spirit and avoid evil and sin. Only if they knew that they would be destroyed (erased from existence) in the Lake of Fire would they then be motivated to do something in developing their spirit. In other words, this life is a test to see if we truly love God or not.

Yes, you might get a few people who try to develop their spirit who do not believe their is any major consequence in the afterlife in not doing so, but they will not have ..... "staying power" in developing their spirit to the end of their lives (Like they should) or when things get really tough in life.

I don't read links. If you can't explain it, I'm not you understand it.

Your reading on a website that you had to have clicked on a link at some point to get here now. Information is true regardless of where it comes from.

Anyways, here you go.

#1. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).

#2. "“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:6-8)."

#3. "The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy” (Psalm 147:11).

#4. “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” (Matthew 17:5). Jesus said He always did “those things that please Him” (John 8:29). We are to conform to the image of Christ.

#5. "Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22).

#6. "May God make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:21).

#7. “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased” (Hebrews 13:15-16).

Typical Synergist. he thinks that God regenerates him after he does something that pleases God, even though the unregenerate man cannot please God in anything he says or does. He can't abide the idea that God would change his heart without his permission. He calls God evil for doing so. Scripture teaches monergistic regeneration prior to faith and repentance. They repent and believe BECAUSE they have been regenerated, not in order to become regenerated. And he thinks that he can please god by his own efforts. One confused dude!

Yes, I already said this. But God elects (chooses) us based on His future foreknowledge of our free will choices. See 1 Peter 1:1-2 (with a specical focus on verse 2).

Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. - Romans 8:8

Do we believe in the flesh?

No. We call upon God to help us to stop sinning and to have Him work thru us. The answer is ..... "not you."

We merely choose to abide with God or not. He does not force us to be saved.

foreknowledge is not of what we will do, but is referring to knowing the person. You know, like Adam knew Eve, and she brought forth a son.
