I very much enjoyed God's Not Dead. That was a great film in my opinion. And though I've not been a fan of Kevin Sorbo he was very good as the antagonist in his role.

I know, really! A prayer closet! *sings* "PRAYER! What is it good for? Absolutely everything say it again...."War room, wheres my blood and gore? Darn Christians.

I don't think it's that surprising at all that an evangelical-based film would do well in a country that has a large number of evangelicals...I would say that the Passion of the Christ movie was overtly evangelical, and that was a huge financial success.
It isn't just evangelicals or Christians. More people want family friendly movies without the killing, profanity, nudity and political correctness on most of the Hollywood junk today. They can't even come up with new ideas, but remake the same stuff over and over.
Dawkins isn't like that. No one is. He's a complete strawman. So are many real atheists. Dawkins for example.

Why oh why would an atheist see "degrees" in religion? In terms of being a "cliché Atheist", I can see Dawkins being a bit like that. He has a tendency to do the "I must oppose all religions equally" and "all religion is equally bad" sort of thing, as a opposed to a Sam Harris who acknowledges that there are varying degrees...
If you watch a Dawkins lecture vs. a Harris lecture, it's pretty easy to spot the differences in attitudes.
There's a difference between being against religion and being the sort of person who's emotionally abusive to his wife, would try to force everyone in his classroom to admit that God doesn't exist under pain of failure, and would waste valuable class time over a pointless debate. I don't agree with everything Dawkin's says, but he's not the two dimensional stereotype in this film.In terms of being a "cliché Atheist", I can see Dawkins being a bit like that. And yet, it's one of the most popular shows in recent history, despite rampant violence and sexuality. Also car wrecks. I tried watching GoT. Lasted no more than ten or fifteen minutes.

But "ISIS" isn't a community, is it? And it doesn't exist in Europe or the US as a community. So if you're asking whether I'd feel safer around a Muslim or Amish community, I really couldn't choose.Who would you feel safer around, ISIS, or an Amish community? If you're answer is not "it's a toss up", then that's an acknowledgement of varying degrees, and the significance of those varying degrees.
