Then I wish you all the best in your endeavours.

What do you think about all the people who have signed up to Obamacare? do you think they have let America down?
Thank you.
No, they/we haven't let America down...we don't have a choice. Personally, I don't like it at all: I went from being able to afford my own healthcare, to having my premiums doubled and my benefits cut in half, and now the American people are paying 3/4 of my bill. I don't see that as good for anyone.

If one is so against government handouts, I would have thought they would refuse such handouts for fear of being a hypocrite. But that's just me....

Awesome. I would rather our money go back into our country and our people, instead of using it to kill people in other countries.
But! But! Communism! Terrorism! Benghazi! 9/11!

Welfare is destroying the black family structure. There is much anecdotal evidence of this and you can search for it as easily as I can. What has destroyed so many black families is also destroying white families and will get the hispanics, too. Until we are all slaves.
The south has risen again (so to speak). Big government is the new boss man, and this is the new slavery. :(

Why not think of Europe, Australia, New Zealand? Because that wouldn't fit your narrative?
New Zealand at one time had 1/3 of the population working while 2/3 were living of welfare.

They saw how destructive that was and changed that politically, by changing policy and laws. It has worked out well for NZ.

Nothing is "well" in New Zealand. Anyone who isn't a bestialist is suffering from feral hobbits. Seriously, place needs to be sterilised back to the bedrock and paved over. Nuke it from orbit. Only way to be sure.

These kind of comments make me nuts. Not everyone is going to have a job. It's impossible to have 100% employment. So, in that case, what happens to those who can't get a job? Or those who could get a job flipping burgers, but they couldn't meet their bills and would therefore be out on the street and then, oops, they lost their job because they are homeless. There is a bigger picture than "everyone should have a job." Much bigger.

If I was not returning to France in 2018, I would petition for NZ citizenship. ;)

I guess you missed the fact that I said "We didn't have a choice."

When they double your premiums and cut your benefits in half, they have taken control by force. That's what happened to me.

The only hypocrites are those who made all the phony promises.

I can only assume you are one of the poor, helplessly deluded souls who has been taken in by the evil machinations of Weta workshops CGI.

Nah. I have been fascinated by NZ for a long, long time. My sister married in Australia and visited NZ during a long period that she spent in that part of the world. She couldn't believe how beautiful it was.

Next time you see her, check her for strange scars. She's obviously suffering from brainwashing. Did you notice her suddenly taking an unhealthy interest in sheep?

Wow. I think you should re-read this and then consider why it might be construed as a grotesque thing to say.

The problem is that the nanny state mentality makes welfare programs the rule instead of the exception. No one who speaks against welfare wants to take anything away from those who really need help, just from those who find it easier to get help than to help themselves. Hand ups, yes. Hand outs, no.

Valid argument whether the US spends too much on military defense.

With that said, I would bet the ranch, our allies across the world (your country included) are quite happy we spend what we do on military defense. Why? Because if anyone was to threaten or attack our allies in Europe, guess who would come running to the rescue with all it's military might?

The US military might, keeps our allies safe, as much as it does the United States.
Not really, who is going to be doing the attacking? if countries thought as you say why would they not just have a token force? why have a standing military at all? who are the enemies in this world? the only enemies are the people who have the things that we all want.

If America was smart it would reduce it's military spending by half and buy everything it needs from the rest of the world,
the wealth would be distributed around the world and the standard of living would go up around the world.

Making people hate you is not the best way to make friends in this world, the US is the strongest country at the moment so it should learn to not throw it's weight around but throw it's money around instead.

The Americans lost the Viet Nam war because they were not fighting an army they were fighting an idea, the same thing is happening in the middle east, let your money do the talking and the buying and for the middle east the US will be the best thing since sliced bread, make people happy and secure and they will be in your debt forever.

Things have indeed gotten grotesque. Sad to say, but true.

With every new government program comes a price and more regulations. There comes a time when you can no longer call it freedom. When you owe your soul to the company store...it's slavery. And we are already there.

And how do you differentiate? You have no way of knowing who can and who cannot get a job.
