To my understanding, the church is simply the body of believers in Christ so wouldn't go quite so far to say the church has been destroyed.

I understand that everyone has their own preferences when it comes to music during worship services, but let us remember that what we might view is traditional and proper hymns are not what the first Christians sang.

We also need to realize that we really don't have a lot to go on to tell us exactly what the first Christian worship services were like, especially in regards to specific details on music.

The very first Christians met in homes to worship, not in "Church buildings", and I don't know how certain we are that they had replicas of crosses adorning their homes.

Now, as to moneygrubbers... well we know there was a problem with them even prior to the Christian church. There's nothing new under the sun. We must do our best to educate and enlighten, and not in any way endorse or support any person in Christian authority what would behave in such a way.

Let us hope that all of our fellow Christians find a congregation that nurtures and strengthens them in worship and in their daily life.

With all due respect, have you ever heard it said you CANNOT change the MESSAGE but you MUST change your METHODS? I have listened to that music ( 22) and most of it still has the gospel it is just different tunes and played with different things. A church that does not do that somewhat is VERY likely to die pretty quickly. Because for example, I refuse to go to the mid-week service because I do not really fit in either the youth are playing games I cannot play due to my disability or the adults for the most part are two to three times or more my age.

No one disputes that.
So quote me chapter and verse that describes God's musical taste about what music He prefers and what music He rejects and how even hearing the latter may bring salvation into question despite faith or grace. Do you believe in salvation by Gregorian Chant? If I should produce a sour note, even during a hymn that you personally sanction, will God be mad at me? Am I liable to go to hell for hearing a pipe organ played in church ( wicked new fangled instrument that it is, making creepy sounding satanic bass notes inspired by the devil's laughter at the cries of the damned in hell) ?

As long as you have thankfulness in your heart to the one true God no music you use to bring Him the Glory , not even new age style which I personally find insipid pap, is anything but pleasing to God. The only caveat I have is that one never use God as an excuse to simply enjoy the music they like as entertainment while attending a worship service thereby bringing the Glory to oneself rather than to Him. I think telling the difference is easy enough by examining what is in your mind and in your heart when you are there in the moment. The same, however, can be said about all parts of the service even the sermons.

It's the delivery and lack of a real melody, not the lyrics. I just can't see the angels in Heaven praising God in that way, drum sets and all.

It might be in God's eyes. When you praise Him, it depends on the way you play it. If you are rocking out with it, it might be as blasphemous to God as murder. Or more.
