As some of you know, by the blessing of HaShem I am busy packing and getting ready to move to the place the L-RD has found for me. In that I am packing my many, many books and came across one I must have picked up at a tag sale or library sale awhile ago, titled THE ANATOMY OF G-D" written by Roy A. Rosenberg. I have only had a little chance to page through this but what I have seen so far has really grabbed my attention. Just the chapter titles alone have peeked my interest and I look forward to reading through this, but it may take awhile because of moving and all. So I am wondering if there is any knowledge or interest here on this?

Just a fair warning on books like these, unless you know your Hebrew/Aramiac and have been schooled somewhat in the proper usuage of Kabbalistic Methology, things get really out of whack.

A book like this, might study certian concepts found within the ZoHar, and will present their "Translation" which fits their agenda. I've even fell myself for things like this due to my own lack of understanding these texts.

It's murky water, and I wouldn't let it help define your theological/Spiritual ideals. And I offer that advise to anyone. Even to the most diehard Hasid to the mezzies ;)

Are you familiare with this man's work? The book jacket says that he is ( maybe now was?) Rabbi of Beth Shalom Peoples Temple in Brooklyn NY.

Yes, you are correct it is a translation, where would one find a "proper" one?

How much study have you done on Kabbalah Yatziv?

I am particularly interested in the Beard of the Ancient one.

For the record, I have not read or heard of the book you are referencing.

But I will say, that despite how highly I respect Kabbalah, I have to agree with Yatziv. Kabbalah is rooted deeply in Hebrew study and Esoteric study of G-d's nature through Jewish mysticism.

While it may lead one to understand the attributes of HaShem in greater detail, it is a subject which one should only approach after being firmly rooted in Torah and after maturing in one's faith.

But, all things aside, I'd love to hear what the chapter titles are of this book SW.

shalom,
Yafet.

I am not familiar with the man at all nor have I ever come across a "people's temple" during my various trips to Brooklyn ( Crown Heights, Williamsburg, flatbush, etc, etc). The name leads me to think of Reform or possibly a conservative Rabbi, but I of course, could be vary wrong.

I'm not sure you could find a "Proper" translation, becuase you translate the message by studying indivdual Hebrew/Aramiac charcaters. Whats commonly done, is you take the raw text, and begin a very slow translation yourself, most often with a group and a instructor.

My knowledge of Kabbalaistic works isn't extensive as my study of the Talmud and various works of Law interpertation, I just don't happen to swing that way, despite my Breslov backround.
