I am a non-denomination Christian. A couple years ago I got a tattoo to symbolize the day god gave me life and brung me into existence. its a tattoo of my birth date and zodiac sign. Now I regret getting the tattoo and is going to get it covered up after finding out that zodiac signs are tied to astrolatry; which is the worship of stars and celestial bodies. No I do not do horoscopes and palm readings and stuff like that. the bible clearly says to stay away from that stuff. But it is interesting that the characteristics and traits of zodiac signs really match. I know that astrolatry is a man made religion, but just like discoveries, new studies and technology today is it possible that they found out something about how the position of plantes are when were born have something to do with our characteristics and traits? I believe the absence of things in the bible dosnt necessarily mean they are false but just mean that God didn't mention it because it wasn't important. (its just an interesting topic I would like to share with fellow Christians)

I have never considered star signs to be associated with worship of stars and celestial bodies. Is that even a thing?

A tattoo should respesent what you want it to, not what the rest of world wants it to. If it represents the day you are born to you, then that is what it is. Dont let other stamp meaning on it.

I understand that but I love god so much that I dont want that on my body anymore. but what do you have to say about my question?

In regards to personality and traits? I find it describes me fairly well.

I can't imagine there being anything that the position of the planets and stars does to cause personality traits.

I am a virgo and my gf is a leo. The main traits resonate with those specified in our star signs. No idea how.

I figure if there is a correlation between incidents/hospital admitions and the phase of the moon then anything is possible.

No, I'd say they are completely independent. Our characteristics and traits come from genetics and environment.

I don't put any stock in astrology.

the post isn't about the tattoo it's about zodiac signs and how true it is (for most people)
I'm a Taurus with all of the inner planets in Taurus. Taurus is Earth energy. I'm so Earth that I make dirt angels after tilling my garden. That's about all I know about astrology. It's not something I'm into. Even though I've had my chart drawn, I don't know how to read it.

But even though I'm not into astrology, from my perspective, God is all, and that even includes the zodiac signs.

I have to agree with awitch there, the position of stars should have no effects on you at all (unless the tiny gravitational fields can affect your gene composition, but in that case the moon should trump all the stars).

And if you don't believe the signs yourself, the only reason you might want to remove them might be that they could mislead others to worship the stars.

As I said the only possible cause might be the graviton field of the moon causing different sperm types or special DNS bindings to occur.

So as long as you don't worship the stars, it can be treated as a scientific research (that we might not have the means to know yet, so we research by statistics).

The phases of the moon have a direct impact on the Earth. You can see better in some of them than others, so people are probably more willing to do things at night when they can see better.

Mars would not have that much of a direct impact and I refuse to believe that any astrological signs influence personality. I think what we find is that we latch onto those people that meet expectations and ignore those who are not their sign. It's the same reason why all these old wives tales persist when there's no reason to believe them.

I'm a Gemini. I don't think that actually means anything in any sort of cosmic, astrological sense.

I wouldn't have a problem having the sign for Gemini tattooed, since I don't attach any sort of religious or spiritual meaning to it, it's just a symbol, one that doesn't violate my conscience.

Don't worry, God's not going to get into some kind of smiting mood because you have a zodiac symbol inked on your body.

Astrology is the belief that celestial bodies impact our lives here on earth, and relates into matters such as fate, destiny, personality, etc.

The distant stars that look like funny vague shapes in the night sky, the position of planets, etc, don't have some sort of funny star magic that controls your destiny, who you'll marry, or who you are.

Aren't the traits so vague that anyone who squints just a little bit is able to fit into them? Also peoples personality traits can change over time, and they are by no means static.

I would. Those are common descriptions that most anybody can claim to have. Especially if said descriptions are flattering, lol.

I would say that if this is really bothering you, than go ahead and have it switched to something else. Maybe something that better reflects your faith? IMO zodiac signs are not a good thing and teach us to look to the heavens for answers to our problems instead of God. Many online sources consider it form of divination which is forbidden in scripture. I encourage you to research it further and pray. The Holy Spirit will guide you:prayer:

What does the Bible say about astrology or the zodiac? Is astrology something a Christian should study?
