Zechariah 2 tells us what Jesus tells us.
5 For I, saith the Lord , will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
Luke 21:18 But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
I use to be confused by verse 18 in Luke, when so many bad things have happened and will happen to Christians.
Zechariah has visions and tells of the protection of God and Jesus to come. Luke 21 does the same , it tells us all that will happen before Jesus comes again and how to endure and Who protects us.
Being a follower of Jesus like Peter and his death , does not mean these worldly bodies will not perish, it means our souls will not.
Luke 21: 19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
The people in Zechariah are told what the protection of God will be like , they will not need a physical wall. They are being told of Jesus and what His Blood shed for us will do and now has done . No matter what happens to the hair on our heads , our souls are surrounded by that wall of fire as in Zechariah. Hold on , His promises where true then and are now...
