  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I never noticed this before though I'm sure alot of you had..

Zechariah 12:10 And i will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son and shall be in bitterness for him as one that is in bitterness for his first born..

So this is clearly about Christ, but i never noticed the part right after it about baptism

Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleaness

Makes me wonder why there are still tradional Jewish ppl.. not that I have anything against them.. just seems odd that they would ignore this.. i mean it all fits together plain as day..

I am curious how you came to the conclusion that the passage dealing with the fountain has to do with baptism. Can you elaborate on that?

Sure I'm glad you asked, the house of David is the lineage of Yashua, A fountain would suggest water, it's in direct relation to the time period after his death.. with the baptism being rebirth through water and the cleansing of sins.. and a fountain being composed of water it all fits together.. considering the baptism was provided to the Jewish ppl first before offered to the gentiles it would make since that it says for the house of David and Jerusalem.. since this is connected directly to Jewish lineage

Ok I see your thought process. Still I must say I don't make the connection between the fountain spoken of in this passage as clearly referring to baptism. I guess our difference would lie in the fact that I don't believe baptism as removing sin so therefor it does not follow with me that baptism is what this fountain refers to. What is "as plain as day" to you cannot mean that at all by my understanding and we are both believers in Christ.

Another possibility for 13:1 is the fountain of life that is Jesus Christ.

but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14)

And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. (Rev 21:6)

What can it mean other than Rev. 22:1?

Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

It should be noted that the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the third heaven (Rev. 22:3).

Because God has hardened their hearts until these last days, where many of Israel are in fact coming to Yashua the savior. I think as a sign of good faith we should join them in abandoning the pagan aspects of Christianity. That's my plan anyway. In the end we'll be one big harmonious people of God.
