  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Friends I am fascinated by the fact that documents have been released by the CIA regarding the testing of Uri Geller's 'powers'. The extensive tests under rigorous experimental method concluded that he “demonstrated his paranormal perception ability in a convincing and unambiguous manner.”

Also recently released are files pertaining to hard evidence of sightings of UFO's by the military.

Now Uri is very up front about the fact that he received these 'powers' from an encounter with a UFO as a very young child.

This raises a serious issue.

Science is saying he has supernatural ability.

This did not come from Jesus.

Uri is a 'really nice' bloke and in demand as a motivational speaker.

Is this a taste of what we have been told will come?

Folks with great powers that will deceive many, leading them away from Jesus.

He is a Jew with no Christian faith.

Sane and down to earth comments appreciated.

Chuck Missler acclaimed bible teacher was convinced of a link between UFO's and the demonic.

Yes. I've seen studies that equate UFO sightings with the occult and with drug taking. Lord Jesus told it straight, the generation that sought for signs was wicked. You may like to read Watchman Nee, "The Latent Power of the Soul". It goes into how demons work with the soul of man to produce lying signs. I had occult power myself before I got saved. I don't know why, but I knew it was wrong. I thank God that I did not go any deeper than I was already.
The so-called Toronto Blessing was a precursor of lying signs that Christians fell for readily. I saw the introductory meetings that launched the phenomenon. It was hypnosis, utterly demonic and should have been stifled at birth. It was not and the church still suffers the after effects.

I also came out of darkness and renounced divination and such. I also saw the connection between UFO sightings and drug use among my addict friends.
However Geller has not been into drugs to my knowledge.

Yes, I don't think that you have to be into drugs to be into the occult. My family was definitely drug free! I gained the dubious "gift" from my mother's side of the family. My dad was an atheist. Interesting mix.....

The CIA also studied Ingo Swann who had similar abilities. There is a connection with 2 Corinthians 12
2- 4

I would love to have your reaction to a discussion over in the Conspiracy Theories section that I personally believe is connected with this....... as well as with 2 Corinthians 12
verses two to four.....

Can some people astral project and put curses on people?

I think there is a big difference between being 'caught up' on the one hand and willfully trying to project on the other.

The latter has no place in the Christian faith.

The former this is quite biblical if initiated by the Holy Spirit.
