I have seen many testmonies that have not touched my heart, let's take an example of a Catholic priest who converted to islam, while to a certain extend I can accept what seems to be his genuine reasoning, while it looks genuine from the outset, he did not give a theologic justification for doing so, which makes me believe that he either did not truly understood his faith or he may not be who he claims to be. So why should I believe that testmony? We see thousands of Christian denominations each interpreting diferent Bible passages diferently, why should I believe one over the other? The same applies to individuals who convert, in unique cases like this we truly don't know the theologic reasons which lead someone to give up the fullness of Truth and follow a faith such islam, maybe GOD just wants the rest of us to back off and stop giving a hard time to all decent muslims... who knows, only GOD does. I guess the other option would be that GOD just needs someone calm and open to dialogue to infiltrate their ranks and helped them open their eyes to reasoning, after all we all children of GOD and GOD works in misterious ways.

I got to also say, I have watched much Muslim stuff on youtube that at first it shook my faith, but in the end such things only forced me to study certain matters further about my faith that i truly did not understood or was able to explain properly, hence why it nearly shook my faith.

I do think that protestants or people of weak faith would have struggled with such matters and possibly even abandoned their faith if they did not bothered to investigate why we Christians believe in such matters, I even go further to say the key to answer such matters for me was the apostolic church.

i do not watch youtube... im not certain why people leave christianity but it is not relevant what religion they choose to follow instead. islam, scientology, humanism et cetera are all they same. they are attempts by man to supplant Gods way. the important thing is that for some reason these people have been misguided and we should do what we can to call them back to Christianity. we should also acknowledge that they may not come back, if that is so we should pray for them and act compassionately. if they try to talk to us about their new religion or try to convert us then unfortunately i think the best thing would be to stop spending time with them.

since we cannot talk to these youtube people it is probably best for us to just ignore their videos and pray that they find their way back.

Simple: a desire to feel included in something. They might have Muslim partners or convincing Muslim friends. My Muslim friends are always trying to get me to convert (not revert. We are born without religion) to Islam.

People can say the same about Muslims who convert to Christianity, or Muslims who convert to Judaism, or Buddhism, or Christians who convert to Buddhism, or anything.

What do I think of it? A waste of bandwidth. Propaganda for the sake of Allah. It looks like it's aggressive 'missionary' work for those with sheep mentality- what it comes across like is:

Convert to Islam! Look! He's done it!

If you want to convert people, find better tactics besides saying X is right, Y is wrong, and Z is in the Koran.

I don't watch videos on YouTube that much, I'm not a YT junkie.

But when someone converts to another religion I usually don't care why they converted, I just hope they're able find what they're looking for.

I understand how you feel, friends from my former church have shunned me. At least I feel shunned, they don't want to talk to me or try to understand why I left Christianity.

There is an estimated 20,000 converts to Islam each year in USA. That is not a lot at all given our huge population, but it is enough to have quite a few people get interviewed and have videos on it. That is why there is such a vast video base.

I watch them all the time, because I love hearing people's conversion stories. But, it does not make a religion true.

Youtube also has a big atheist population, with many videos of former Christians.

And there ARE some ex Muslims, so get it out of your head that a Muslim will never leave Islam. I know a guy from Egypt, who speaks arabic and has a Bachelors in Islamic Studies and Arabic. He is an ex Muslim. I believe he has a youtube account too. I can fetch up a link if you would like!

To tell you yhe turth, every time I try to find good videos on religon I always find videos about Athiestism.
(maby I am doing somthing wrong)

As for the people who have converted to Islam, your going to find people who left Islam for other religons or lack of religon as well. Its not like all the Christians have sunddly decieded to become Muslims because a few have converted.

There are Christians who became muslims, Muslims who became Christians, Christians and Muslims who joind other religons and people from other religons who joined one of the two. that just how it is.

Dont remind me, I am having the same problem with my old "freinds" who now act as if I am a sinfull man because I rejected Christainty and I no longer feel welcome with them. However I always did feel unwelcome.

People for some reason just think what they belive will make them specials, wether its Christiaty, Islam, Hinduism, Atheism ect. some people just have a hard time accepting that there are other ways of looking at things.

this is called REINFORCEMENT LEARNING. we keep reinforcing our beliefs and our faith by examining and reflecting upon everything that surrounds us.

very wise of you to have such mentality. i do not agree with your conclusion to stay catholic because i believe in islam. but more importantly is that you have got the right mentality. i pray to God that he guides you to the correct religion which will earn you eternity in paradise. amen.
