Hello. I was wondering if anyone could give me some good ideas or a good website. I have just started a new youth grop with kids from grades 1-3 with another girl, and we really need some ideas for what to do. I don't attend this church, but my grandparents do. This church has never had a youth group before, and we really need some good ideas to get it going. They also don't have much for resources right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So, we're talking about ages 6-8? Bible stories, coloring, simple crafts, skits (my class used to love acting out Bible stories when we were that age), clowns, sleight of hand (assuming the church is ok with that), object lessons, sing-a-long action songs

I would suggest looking around online. I did a Google search just now and found quite a few good pages of info, activities, and advice. When I used to teach- we had a box full of papers and activities. I would suggest you look around online for ideas. I agree with all the suggestions fishstix gave! I always found that crafts, and skits went really well- as long as you stick to a theme/message for each lesson.

Dude, try turning of all the lights in the church, then doing a like a freeze tag game, or hide and seek! ITS SO FUN
