  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've seen about half of Love Hina. It's pretty good from what I've seen and heard sofar. Though I've been told the manga is much better. Though it is very fanservicy at times... if you don't like that kind of thing, I would avoid Love Hina.

Other good animes:
Azumanga Diaoh
Great Teacher Onizuka
Digi Charat
Wolf's Rain
Tenchi (it's a classic everyone loves Tenchi!)
Ranma 1/2 (another classic)
Ah My Goddess (another classic)

Regarding anime in general it's best to be informed and discerning about any series. Just like any other type of television programming or films, anime has a wide range of themes and story-lines among them. Some safe for children. Some may even be too graphic and explicit for adults. (Or, as some have already termed...geared towards "fan-service".)

Some go off the deep-end and say all anime is bad. While others will claim from the other side of the spectrum all of it should be acceptable. Personally, I feel neither is correct. However, since the West is more accustomed to seeing cartoons "for kids" until recently more caution and discernment should be taken into account.

As for Love Hina I didn't read but a portion of a magna online somewhere. But it wasn't anything I found interesting. One guy with a bunch of girls does sound like a harem though.

Well, the plot is actually more like the old Jerry Lewis movie, THE LADIES MAN, in which a nebbish gets a job as custodian in an all female dormitory. Keitaro is only in love with Naru, but doesn't know if she is the girl he promised to go to Tokyo Universoity with when he was 5 years old (trust me, folks, this makes a lot more sense in the actual manga). The other girls view him more as a brother than a potential boyfriend (though there are a few "potential boyfriend" moments before they band together and decide to kaie sure he ends up with Naru).

So, a harum in the literal sense? No. In the figurative sense of one guy and a plethora of attractive young women, yes.

The anime was fun when I watched. Megumi Hayashibara is probably the main draw for me (she plays the aunt), and does the intro song. In the past, her roles have tend to be super powerful heroines, like Lina Inverse from Slayers, Pai from 3x3 Eyes, female Ranma in Ranma 1/2, etc.

I enjoyed Love Hina and a lot of my friends did too. A bit heavy on the fanservice though and the humor does get rather repetative. But it's still enjoyable.

Another anime you should watch:

Rurouni Kenshin (legendary) :D
You cant avoid fanservice, most of anime series have it, exept pokemon and other series made for kids:cool:
