• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello my friends. I have spent a good deal of time here reading your posts, offering my take on things and trying to help to let you know that there is no 'alone' here.

As in the physical world, I have spoken with all of you very little about myself.

I offer you all the opportunity to pick my brain, to get my reaction and to see that we are all fantastic people, with so much to share. There may well be a gift in our illnesses.

Stephen

You're right Stephen..."we are all fantastic people with so much to share"
This "bp thing" is hard to discuss in "the physical world" I look forward to the day God can use this disease in me to minister to others (in the physical world)

Why don't you share one thing about yourself that would be hard to share in the physical world ???

Thank you's for your responses to such an odd post. ( I spent more than a decade being a stay-at-home drunk and drug user, so getting back in touch with all of you folks in public, is sometimes a daunting task for me.)

'Drunk', may not be the preferred nomenclature, but, I tend to be honest. Am I crazy? Well, if I know that I'm a bit crazy, in the scheme of things, then I must not be insane.

I don't know that there is anything that I consider to be difficult to discuss in public. ( I must consider that being polite and gentile, will reach a greater scope of people, but that is a matter of tact.)

People who do not suffer from Bipolar or another form of mental illness, do not readily or easily understand or accept the situation that we face every morning when we step out of bed.

My big truth, would be that this fact bothers me a bit more than some. (Explaining my situation gets really old, really fast.)

I was designed to teach and to share. Unfortunately, the population, don't want my information.

Something that I do not say in public, but is something that scares me and makes me sad. I am afraid that I will die alone. I could drink another five years and do myself in, but I like the possibilities and I've decided that I don't want to die.

You are very honest fellow and I apprectiate that. Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself. I think if you were designed to teach and share then that is who God made you and eventually you will find a way to do it. In the meantime I look forward to more of your insightful posts.

Thanks for sharing so honestly Stephan. Your insight is so (going to check Thesaurus to get appropriate word)...I found a few words...
discerning/matured/contemplative/and most of all HONEST!

I work in the Health Care System and am saddened by the fact this disease is not accepted or understood. We are to be there to help those who are sick. This is where I believe the Lord can use me...to show love and understanding to those who suffer as we do.
