CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been widowed for the last 7 months. My husband passed very suddenly and it was not expected. Right now, I'm feeling pretty good, but that is deceiving. Every time I think I'm doing ok, I fall flat on my face. So, I'm expecting that fall any time now.

I was widowed 11 years ago. I was 24 years old when Michael died. I remarried 8+ almost 9 years ago to a wonderful man who respects Michael and loves me unconditionally.
I have decoration this weekend, and it is still hard, even though I have remarried. He was my high school sweetheart.

I'm under the half century mark and I have been a widow for 5 years, too.
I have had other friends that became widows even younger than you. Two gals I went to school with have both found new mates.
One of the gals waited on the Lord for 3 years and she thought that was a long time. I know a widower that waited over 7 years.
It may not be easy but I realize there are young people out there waiting on the Lord to bring them the right mates and some of them are already near your age.
Is this the kind of response you were looking for?
I hope you find friends in here. It has become a nice way for me to dwell on Scripture and it has helped me meet a few Christian friends and I've only been on this site for a couple of days.
