They did as they were told; they shook their hands and gave gestures instead of apologizing and quietly exited the office and returned to class. Adry entered the classroom 3-B. "Adry I thought you were going to be absent, anyway you may go to your seat, I hope your father does not hear any of this," Mr. Gossamer their Geometry teacher then went back to his lessons. Time went by fast and nearly without notice, as the bell rung for dismissal. Adry passed by the hallway he could hear other kids and classmate gossip about the fight that involved him and Morton. He ignored them and walked to his locker. "Hi, Adry so what happened after the fight did Mrs. Grahmbell call your parents," the same girl in pink sweater asked. "No, we got detention instead," Adry replied in a low voice.
She immediately said "Thank God, so you'll be going with us to the square after detention... "No, I've got some personal things to settle I am sorry," he immediately interrupted. He walked and vanished in the thick curtain of students going home. After detention Adry walked home around 6:00 all by himself. While walking on the sidewalk he thought of Marsha the girl she just spoke to, Marsh was an intelligent girl in class she mostly participated in all the orals and got pleasing grades, her face that somewhat had attracted him, her blue eyes that mesmerized other boys around. Deeply Adry knew he liked her but he could not tell her or express it. He knew that he was not the right guy for her.... He was distracted by a howl in the woods. Adry looked into that direction and followed the howl. The snow made him remember his steps back and he also brought a map of his town just in case he got lost. Adry bumped something with his foot; he carefully uncovered it from the thick snow. He freaked out upon seeing a dead wolf pup. "Ohh.. crud," he told himself. He turned and ran back. He noticed he was being followed by someone or thing. Adry ran for his life, his heart nearly exploded when he herd a low howl followed by other howls. knowing that a wolf pack was chasing him, he also knew that he was not following his steps anymore. Breathing heavily, he knew that he could get kill when he stops running. What seemed like hours were just minutes until he could not run anymore. Adry gazed around his surroundings a thick forest covered in snow. Trees were everywhere and everything seemed threatening. Seeing no wolves chasing him, he sat on the ground and made a deep breath thankful that he lost them, he was really wrong when a furry animal jumped on his back and sank its teeth in to his shoulder. He got up and broke a tree branch and used it to knock of the white wolf but there was another wolf that bit his leg one that was similar to a German shepherd. Using the branch again trying to ward the wolf pack away from him. "Look I didn't kill your pups," he shouted in desperation. Adry did not even say oww or ouch he just stayed silent and unmindful of the pain. A paw scratched his chest and his whole body was shivering due to the winter's shill. The pack seemed to gang up on him, some went for his hand, others concentrated more on his neck. Adry could not move anymore or even struggle to get up he was pinned down by a wolf pack bloodied, bleeding and severely wounded. He wanted to scream and shout but he could not something kept him silent. The wolves slowly backed out when the full moon rose and the night was already pitch black. He groped for the branch that he was using moments ago to ward of the wolves. He used it to help him get up. He knew that his parents were worried about him that he has not arrived home yet. He dug his pockets for the cell phone and discovered that it was broken due to the brawl with the wolf pack. He really felt cold. His jacket was torn and his t-shirt the more with his pants. Without warning Adry felt indescribable pain, he fell on the snowy ground and couldn't even raise any part of his body. He thought he was going to die until he blacked out.
"Sir Thompson, would you mind if I enter the house and take a look at his room," a police officer told the worried parents. "You said he went to school and no other place," "It's not like Adry to go someplace else," a concerned mother informed. "Thanks for letting us know, Mrs. Thompson, is this his room?" the officer was rather shocked. "Why is there anything you want us to know," Mr. Thompson asked. "It's kind of unusual, all male teenagers' room are supposed to be messy but," "But what officer?" Mr. Wilson inquired. "No posters of favorite bands or stars,"
"Not even play boy magazines under the bed or in the drawers, sounds like a good obedient boy to me,"
"Uhmmm....yes" the hesitant Mr. Thompson gave an answer.
"Guess that's that, will be informing you if we find anything about him,"
"Goodbye officer"
as the officer exited the compound, and all Mrs. Thompson could do was cry on Mr. Thompson's shoulder.
"We interupt this program to bring you breaking news. The son of William Thompson of Thomp Industries, Adrian Ryan Thompson has been missing since Friday, and his current where abouts are unkown, however there are rumors of a reward if anyone can find him...." the TV was switched off via remote control.
"Wasn't that boy, Adry your classmate dear," a woman in the mid-30's in an apron asked Marsha who sat in the blue sofa. "Yes he is Mom,"
"Dear you look worried, why is that so?"
"Its that you've known this person for quite sometime and he stays the same no changes and he has always stayed silent,"
"Hmm maybe he likes someone and is afraid to say and admit it,"
"Yeah...
"Just pray to Him that no harm may come upon Adry,"
Adry groggily wakes up, shaky his hair disheveled, his yellow blue jacket badly torn, the shirt he wore wasn't even a shirt anymore, it was more of a wipe cloth. He looked at himself and wondered why the scratch marks, bruises and bite marks were gone. "How the hell did I get here?" He told himself. It was indeed too early in the morning for the streets were still empty. Still snowy though, the trees are still white and the road was not visible thanks to the snow. Adry gathers his strength still dizzy and confused on what had happened. He approaches Marsha's house, it was the ones that you see in the country side simple designs it had a balcony and a lobby that seemed inviting to sit and rest. Adry finally reached the door and was about to knock when the door opens and...
"Aaaaahhhhhhhhh!"
"Marsha! It's me,"
"Adrian you've been missing since Friday and what happened to you... Marsha giggles
"I don't remember what happened all I know is that I was attacked by wolves, wait I've been missing since Friday?"
"Today's Sunday,"
"What!?"
"Get in, your going to need a new outfit rather than the tattered one your wearing right now,"
Marsha led Adry in the house seeing that he was in need of new clothes and most certainly a bath.
Adry was seated in a sofa he looked at some of the pictures that were displayed in some sort of family altar.
Some aunties and uncles had names under their pictures.
"So what exactly happened last Friday?" Marsha's voice came from behind.
"To be honest with you I don't really seem to remember,"
"Adry are you hiding something?"
"Ahh...no definitely not,"
"Adry sorry to bother both of you but would you like some cookies?"
"Thanks Mrs. Simmons," Adry said as he got a cookie.
"No, thanks mom,"
"I called your parents already Adry and they said they'll be picking you up personally"
"Thanks Mrs. Simmons,"
Mrs. Simmons was going to return to the kitchen until the doorbell rings and startles her.
"That must be your parents Adry,"
Opening the door two familiar people stepped in and rushed towards Adry. The gentleman wore an overcoat that hid his physical features except his face the woman was neatly and decently dressed in a matching pair of black blouse and pants.
"Mrs. Simmons I hope that Adry did not bother you much," the gentleman said.
"Thanks for letting Adry borrow your brother's clothes" the lady said to Marsha
"Your welcome Mrs. Thompson and Adry did not bother us, we were just glad to help,"
"We're glad to hear that also Marsha," Mr. Simmon replied.
"Thanks for everything but sorry were quite in a hurry to go home," Mrs. Simmons added went out the door Adry followed waving goodbye to Mrs. Simmons and Marsha. "Hope we'll be seeing each other again, Mrs. Thompson said and did the same.
On the way home riding a green trooper Mr. Thompson broke the silence by asking "Adry, you've worried us so much when you immediately disappeared,"
I'm sorry that I did," Adry answered in a low voice
"You should be, we spent money just to look for you," Mr. Thompson barked.
"William," Mrs. Thompson warned.
Silence was observed again after the conversation.
