  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Psalm 119:

1 Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord!
2 Blessed are those who keep His witness, who seek Him with the whole heart!

Those who kept His witness

Genesis 6:9
This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, blameless in his generations.

Noah walked with God.

Genesis 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,
“I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless".

Apostolic Instructions

Philippians 2:
14 Do all things without complaining and disputing,
15 that you may become blameless and harmless,

children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked
and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ
that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

1 Thessalonians 3:
11 Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ,
direct our way to you.
12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all,
just as we do to you,
13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

As for the thread title, was David blameless? Was David blessed? Or, how about that thief on the cross next to Jesus
The thread title is fully supported by the posts.
As to being blessed:
Romans 4:
5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.”

Blameless does not mean sinless.

Psalm 119:

1 Blessed are the blameless in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord!
David says: I rejoice, I meditate & I delight. He loved the law of God because that was his safe keeping and designed for his benefit to keep him out of harms way. Today people think the law is an evil taskmaster and that is the work of Satan to deceive and destroy people by allowing the to think they can get away with inequity.

14I rejoice in the way of Your testimonies

as much as in all riches.

15I will meditate on Your precepts

and regard Your ways.

16I will delight in Your statutes;

I will not forget Your word.

By what means was David blameless and blessed?
Because he kept the law of God. For his own safety and well being. He avoided iniquity. Remember when Jesus said: "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7 23

Not really. David was a murderer and an adulterer.
He was blameless and blessed, because when he was chastised,
he repented with a contrite heart and was forgiven and restored.
Psalm 32:
1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

  1. David and the Temple:
    • David desired to build a permanent temple for the Lord in Jerusalem. However, God instructed him through the prophet Nathan that his son Solomon would be the one to build it (2 Samuel 7:12-13).
    • Despite being a man of great faith and a “man after God’s own heart,” David had a history of violence. His actions, including the affair with Bathsheba and the subsequent murder of her husband Uriah, led to consequences (2 Samuel 11-12).
    • As a result, God chose Solomon to build the temple instead. Solomon’s reign was marked by wisdom, prosperity, and the construction of the magnificent Temple in Jerusalem (1 Kings 6).

    • This is why we talk about the scarlet threads. Or the blood line from David to Jesus. Even going back to Adam.

I only know of three human persons who the bible calls BLAMELESS

# 1 In Luke 1:6 concerning the Law of Moses

# 2 The only person is Paul , in Phil 3:6 and concerning righteousness which is of the Law .
