Hey guys. One of my friends at college is releasing a new album. I have a demo version and it's going to be really good, even better than his previous albums, kind of reminiscent of Dylan...he's an exceptional lyricist. He also has a cd out with another guy, and they have a track called "Woman and Her Gun", which is one of my favorite songs of recent memory, this one is more straight ahead rock (with an absolute killer guitar solo). If you would be so kind as to take a listen and tell me what you think, I would be very appreciative.

Not bad... I'm not a huge fan of his voice (but then again, I didn't warm to Dave Matthews' voice at first, and now I'm a huge DMB fan) but I'm sure the final version would be far more polished

Yeah, at first I didn't like Alex Phan's voice (the first guy to sing on "Woman and Her Gun"), but it has really grown on me. He's actually a professionally trained jazz vocalist. Thanks for the opinion KristianJ! Some of the songs posted on Soundclick are rising in the charts.

Just heard the New Year's Day instrumental... I thought it was quite good. Whoever the soloist is seems to have a good melodic sense, although I thought it got a bit repetitive after the first 3 minutes. But it shows some promise, IMO.

Edit: Couldn't get "Woman and her Gun" to load, but I'm listening to "Your Something." It seems pretty straightforward, not bad but not great either. I liked the instrumental stuff better, and the instrumental coda at the end of this one's pretty cool as well. "As Strong as Waves" seemed like more of the same... nice acoustic rock. Granted, it's not really my type of music, so I'm probably not the best one to judge. But the instrumental thing was nice.

Thanks for the opinions, if you get an opportunity, try "Woman and Her Gun" again, it was working for me earlier. If you have trouble with hi-fi, try running the lo-fi one. His material was still going through the copyright process, so he didn't put his best songs up yet.
