You Feel Your Prayers Are Feeble?
Yes we all feel like that at times; and the enemy delights to make us feel that way so that he can defeat us.
You may feel that God seems for ever to answer your prayers and you feel like giving up, well you know heres a little illustration to help you carry on:
Prayer is like a man coming home from work and every day he knocks off the mud from his shoes on the side of a great door thats attached to one strong bolt. Each day he gentle taps the mud off, and each day without him noticing, the great bolt slight only a fraction undoes. One day the mighty door crashes, than never relised the power of persistant knocking. Thats like us when we pray feebly, it has a big effect of a big closed door. ASK and it shall be GIVEN ASK and DONT GIVE UP you will rejoice one day as I will.
Bless you John:thumbsup:

I love the illustration John!
I really needed reminding to persist, and to ignore the nagging voice that says my prayers are feeble.

It got me thinking too - what happened to all that fertile mud that he knocked off?

Perhaps it gave good nourishment to any dropped seeds, and strong plants grew up?

I hope the results of our feeble prayers will be that powerful!

God bless, Susana

I Manage an apartment complex for a living, and we stay full, so anyone who wants to live here has to fill out an application, and get on the dreaded 'waiting list.' LOL, Well, there is this one lady who has called me faithfully for the last 6 months, (she was waiting on a particular floor plan, if your wondering why it took so long) and I have been reminded of the parable that Jesus told about the woman and the Judge. For a reminder, I'll tell it in my own words, bear with me, lol. (I rented one to her today, and I am sooo glad, now she won't call me every other day!)
There was a woman who was being wronged, and there was an evil judge. The woman continually went to the Judge to ask for mercy, and the Judge continually told her to go away. Until, because of her persistence, He did as she asked, only so she'd leave him alone! So, let's compare this to our God, First difference, God is RIGHTEOUS, (unlike the judge in the parable) second, God loves to give GOOD gifts to those who ask! We can know that God delights in giving us, His children, GOOD gifts, because He is not unjust, but if we don't receive our answer after a certain amount of time, then let's just continue to ask, believing that God is not a liar, and He promised to give us what we ask for through Jesus, (in His will) I know that this very parable has strengthened my faith. I got to the point in my journey where I had left God for a time, (by my deeds, not in prayer, or in heart, but my heart was affected!) Anyway, and I thought (by confusion, deceit and living under the 'law') that I could not come back to God, I thought I had been too 'bad' Well, I studied the word of God more when this happened, and I prayed diligently for forgivness, (even though as soon as I repented God forgave me, I just didn't know it!) I leaned, literally, on this parable, repeating the word to God, saying "You are a Good God, and will not give your child a stone who asks for bread!" Believe, and you will receive. God is sooo good, and just. He delights in giving us good gifts.
Be Loved as you Love; my family,
I love you,
B

God loves to hear even the most feeblist of all prayers because He already knows what is in our hearts before we get on our knees and begin to pray. He can read our minds as well as our thoughts & knows what is in our hearts, so it doesn't matter if we pray one word prayers like "HELP", or longer prayers expressing what we need help with, He already knows what we are praying & asking for.

You may feel that God seems for ever to answer your prayers

I don't know about the rest of you, but God answers my prayers almost instantly. I am truly so amazed to see such instant results every time it happens!

BLESSED BE GOD WHO HEARS & ANSWERS PRAYERS!!!!

Why is it that the bible says "Ask and it shall be given" and "You may ask me for anything in my name and you shall receive it" yet people always have to add "but you'll only get it if it's God's will"

why would God say ask for anything (but with conditions?) or is the whole as long as it's God's will thing an addition?

Well I dont know rreally I guess to protect us from asking things that are totally wacko and sinful or stupid. I guess I could ask for things that are not in line with Gods will.
Which would hinder His divine plans, but also Jesus does add a clause that we should ask in FAITH and no doubting no not 1%. When we ask for something that we are totally assured that its a good thing to ask for, then we have confidnece that He will answer. Thats why we need to be in touch with God, so that we ask for things that He wants to give us. All i suggest is ASK just ask, I do, and I know that as the bible says "if we ask anything according to His will He hears us..to the point of answering"
I wish we could just ask, but I knowthat when i am down I would ask for things that I wouldnt ask for if i was happy, perhaps things I would regret after, so I guess God adds that clause for our good.
Bless you John

Heres a story. It's true.

Ok there was a woman that lived in a house beside a bakery(it was many years ago) and one night the wall just colapsed beside her bed and just missed her. SO the woman of course called a builder. WHen the builder came she asked him why the wall had fall. He studied it and came to the conclusion... the baker's machine had been turned on every morning for twenty odd years. Every turn and rumble had weakened the wall until it eventually colapsed.

The morale was no matter how little affect a prayer looks like its having it is acctually doing something. So don't get discouraged when things don't turn out how you want straight away. Just keep on praying!
