Yesterday it rained really badly here. Well, there was a gigantic horseshoe track mud race going on that we went to. Quite naturally, we had to wade in the gumbo/buckshot to get out to the track (keep in mind, you people that live in or around Mississippi, this is an open field and you know how gumbo does, it sticks to your shoes and sucks 'em straight off.) Well, the mud was especially wet, and those trucks were really fast smackin' through that horseshoe track. Well, right after I'd gotten back from talking with a boy that I'm rather fond of, I sat down, and what do you know..two trucks come barreling around the curve, and one has lost his sprayers off of the top of his windshield. The mud has caked on the windshield and he can't see where he's going. He goes straight over the hump and straight through the fence right where we're sittin'. (They didn't have time to put railings up.) I do believe that God saved lives right there. Little boys had been sitting there only thirty minutes before, in the exact spot that the truck had slammed through the fence, and my uncle was on the other side of where it had stopped. The truck had hit my daddy's chair after he ran off, and I was pinned against a truck we were sitting behind screaming. We could feel the heat off of it, it was so close. Miraculously, the engine just quit the second it hit the fence, and it held it back. Just a flimsy little wire fence. God is around, even when you don't know it. If He hadn't been there at that moment, I wouldn't be sittin' here typing this. Praise the Lord forever.
