  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yakini

By Danni

The names of the characters in ‘Yakini’ were especially chosen (they are actual African names) because of the meaning behind them.

Yakini: Truth

Gamba: Warrior

Throughout this story, I wanted to portray the message of the World. Ultimately, everyone is searching for something. Yakini was searching for truth. Gamba is the Word of God, and throughout the story, I have him (figuratively) speaking to Yakini and trying to encourage her with the Word. Yakini is generally unresponsive to it until towards the end when all hope is lost, and Jesus reveals Himself to her.

I believe that for some, Jesus does reveal Himself in this way I have portrayed. This is not always the case…but I needed it in this form so it can be understood better, and so that it truly portrays the constant battle Yakini, and all of us, must face…and the decisions we must make…between good and evil. She made the distinction early on, that there was this battle…but she did not understand it. Only when she sought forgiveness, could she overcome the evil. And so this is the story.

I hope you enjoy!
