Several anti-Catholics responded, the Church should be charged with crimes against humanity and banned, they must want more young people in so priests can molest them, their numbers are declining, it’s non-biblical. Etc

Why do they hate us so much?

If someone said negative comments about the gays, Muslims or Obama, people would go hysterical.

Very hypocritical.

Well, all this stuff and targeting of Christians (whether Catholic or not) is happening because of this verse from 2 Timothy.

2 Timothy 3:12 (NIV): "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted"

I can't stand the people who attack the Catholic church as if they (the attackers) are so moral themselves. They really get on their high horse.

I agree. The attackers probably have their own churches with pastors who do stuff just as bad.

We are all Christian (Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox), so why are these people attacking fellow Christians?

making comments like that about other groups.

We are all Christian (Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox), so why are these people attacking fellow Christians?

I‘ve said this before but I grew up in a very Catholic area and live in one now. I had absoulutely no clue there was such strong anti Catholicism out there until I was an adult.

I had no idea it was this bad either. Luckily, people treat me well, cos I tell them that I am Catholic Christian, and I do disagree with Papal infallibility as a Catholic. Also, I have not encountered many people yet who dislike Catholicism.

I had a very unnerving heated discussion today with a non practicing Catholic who spoke vehemently and viciously about the Church.
He said the Lord should be everywhere

I said 'Then how do you receive the Eucharist'
2 hour long battle and he 'enjoyed' it and said he's willing to call back tomorrow.

He's angry at the Lord for his dads death. But we all are going to die.
He said unspeakable things but they came from dark forces.

Angry world.

On that note I am debating of hanging out with him but I need to I dunno.
Unnerving and the stuff he said was horrible.

The Catholic Church can be accused of one thing, and then be accused of the very opposite. Too liberal and too conservative. Too concerned with sim and too forgiving. Too spiritual and too physical. Too much and too little whatever. It’s an indication of being right on the mark to take flack from both sides.

And in my discussion today - the guy was gaslighting me.
I was firm on telling him he was doing that.

'You're judgmental' and then saying 'A rapist who impregnates a woman should be killed.'

It's both ways and any way to get their way.

I’ve met a few in my adulthood but they haven’t been really extreme. At least not in front of me.
