  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have xp pro. My problem is that whenever i click on a picture and enlarge it i cannot save it to my computer.(right click, save as). It saves but then i try to open the file and is says no preview available!

I have tried to open the files using other programs but they wont open!
While loading on xp i had to skip file 12 and something like #85. My disk must be scratched or something because i tried multiple times reinstalling xp and it did the same every time!

Oh it will save if i put it straight to background wallpaper. But then i cant change wallpapers when i want. emailed pictures work just fine though!

Ok, I had this problem recently with XP Home and Pro.....what you need to do is this....right click the picture you saved (the thumbnail in the folder) and click "Open With" and tell it to open in Internet Explorer, but make sure you don't set it to open everytime (you'll see the checkmark).......once open in IE just right click on the picture and save it over itself, this should take care of the problem......I know it's a pain, but it's the only solution I have found so far and I have no idea what causes it to happen......

No and it dosnt make a difference if i save it as bmp or art(wich i believe is jpeg)
Jpeg is isn't own format.....the same with bmp and art, they are both different formats.....I believe ART is the format AOL uses to cut down on file sizes......when you are saving these pictures you need to save them in the same format they are in, in other words when u get that save box, don't change the file type...use a program like paintshop pro or photoshop to open and save as a different file type and name......

Interesting problem, if the above fix does not work (or even if it does) I have a work around that will work. Download a free copy of Star Downloader and install it. Now every time you right click to save a picture or anything select Download with Star Downloader. I don't trust Windows to download anything for me (see why?)and I have been using this nifty program for a very long time and it has a 100% track record on my system. It's nice to have full control over what I download.
