  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

im not sure if it is the right place to be posting, but it looked like a good place to start. please refer me to the right place is this isn't the right topic.

what are the good and the bad things about the Xl1s .
what are the good and the bad things about the GL2 .

is it true that they have the same picture quality ( i heard that somewhere but have a hard time believing it) i need the best quality for the price. i need a mobile camera right now but will need a bigger camera in the future is the XL1s small enough to go one-handed? i guess that's what i really need to know.

if the GL2 has the same quality then im going with the GL2, but if the XL1s is small enough then ill probably go with that....lol. PLEASE HELP!

haha, ive sorta been in that situation. but i went with the panasonic pvdv953 . its a three chip, and the video is amazing, and its cheaper than the xl1 or gl2. i love this camera. i mean, the xl1 is a better camera, but im so happy with my 953. anyways. about the gl2. there both awsome cameras, personaly out of the two i would go for the gl2 bc its smalller cheaper, and will get the same job done. hope this helps at all.

I've never used the XL1 first-hand, but I have heard nothing bad about it. I have used the GL1 (almost identical to the GL2, just older), and it was awesome! I loved everything about this camera, and it was a very nice size. The XL1 is a bit bigger, but they are basically the same camera. The reason for the difference in price is because the XL1 has interchangeable lenses. That can be quite a useful/professional feature, but if you don't need it, save your money and stick with the GL2.
