Xenosaga Episode I on PS2

I'm thinking of buying this game tonight but want to know if anyone here played it. is it 2 player? I'm not able to get enough info on that.

It's one player but one of the best RPG's on PS2. Very deep storyline and lots of drama. Heard some christians giving it it some bad rep for the usage of christian symbolisim but I think that's more personal interpetation, didn't think it was negative. Playing ep 2 atm.

i could never get into it, i love rpgs, i love sci-fi, but both together in this aspect, didn't work for me. Not sure why though, i have it, but have only put about an hour into it...

btw, there isn't any two player stuff, though there are rpgs with multiplayer up two four (FFIX anyone?), but it doesn't work out.

I was interested in this a while back but I found out it's almost impossible to get hold of so that scared me off, although I might try looking again now the pressure of exams are off my back.

it depends, i was able to find a used copy easily. However, if it proves harder, the internet is always an option

its an ok game. good rpg, but the cut scenes are like hours long! good story though...

That's a shame, it's a really good game. While the cutscenes can be long, the option to actually pause the scenes is a HUGE plus for this game. But the biggest draw for me is the epic storyline, one of the best I've seen in an RPG.

The main turn off for me is that it's even called by the devs a "cinematic RPG". I prefer to play a game, not watch it. I like cutscenes, but from what I've heard Xenosaga gets a bit out of hand. I am planning on playing it at some point, but right now I've got other stuff to finish.

That's no different than the MGS series though. Most of the game consists of cutscenes, espicially part 2. Yet it's still an extremely popular gaming series with a large fanbase.
