  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’ll probably anger the true x-men fans, but I could care less about the comic book stuff. I’m going to see this movie for one reason only: Hugh Jackman looks fine as Logan/Wolverine. The only reason I watched the first two movies was because of him.

When I want something deep and intellectually stimulating I read a book. When I want eye candy I watch something from Hollywood. I’m not saying that there has never been any intelligent or deep movies (or comic books for that matter)—just that 95% of it is just fluff.

Saw it last night.

Good action, Magneto really shines. Unfortunately, some of the mutants I really wanted to see didn't turn out to be in it or were reduced and changed so much that they were unrecognizable.

Nightcrawler's absence is unexplained. All of a sudden there are only six X-Men? And Psylocke is with the Brotherhood? She's not even a ninja and I didn't see one Psychic Knife.

They did about as well as they could with Beast and Juggernaut. Wolverine continues to evolve, as does Iceman which I liked.

However, as slick as his defeat of Pyro was, I would have liked to see him get crazier with the ice, as he supposedly has uncontrollable, untapped power, much as Jean does in the movies.

My main gripe however, was that

They killed too many main characters. Xavier, Cyclops, and Jean are all dead. Rogue and Mystique are left powerless. You think it really IS the last stand until Magneto slightly begins to regain his power. If it's going to end, let it END!

Oh, and be sure to stay after the credits. There's a surprise clip afterwards.
