  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Does anyone think it necessary to ask What Would Jesus Do when watching movies?

I don't think that Jesus would watch movies period (I can't seem him doing that even in our time period-he would rather read the Bible and help people. I see Him as a productive person.;) ) but I am curious if anyone in here ever stops to think about that before watching something????

It seems to me that Jesus would not want us to be watching movies with sex/etc in them.....it just doesn't seem like something we should entertain ourselves with.

I know there is a thread in here about bikinis....well, what about movies? We talk about modesty of women...men talk about the temptations....sooooo do you NOT watch movies with sex/bikini clad women...etc in them?

I would think that men that feel that women who do not think that it is modest for women to wear bikinis, would not watch movies with sex/women in bikins, etc. Is this true?

you are right. jesus wouldn't watch movies with sex in it and we shouldn't either. of course most of us do, including me sometimes. however, i wouldn't say that jesus wouldn't watch movies at all. i mean he had to take leisure time. but i think everyone should realize that even though you think the slight sexual images aren't affecting you, it does. whatever you put into your mind is what you get out of it.

*shrugs* Nudity doesn't bother me. I see the human body as a beautiful creation and not the obscene perversion the movie industry tries to impose on us. I guess it's a matter of opinion.

As for sex scenes... I know they really aren't doing anything, so I don't let that get to me either.

I was bringing this up for the people who are against the bikini clothes that women wear......you (TerraSin) said that that does not bother you so I would not think that this would either. This is more for those who are saying things about bikinis.

It seems it is ok to watch things on TV that we are not supposed to do ourselves. It doesn't seem right to me. Scripture says: I will put no evil thing before mine eyes.

That's nice. Next time you might be more specific. In any event, if your intentions are to not hear the opinions of the opposite side, you'd be better off not starting a topic to begin with. :p

So what you're saying is that sex is evil? Welcome to the land of perversity created by the American Dream. Americans see sex as evil only because our media has perverted it to the point where it's become an abomination instead of a gift of beauty.

I did EXPLAIN it. See the last question from my original OP! And it doesn't matter who replies. I don't mind if you do. I was just looking for what people thought, so feel free to say what you want. That is the whole point!

Personally I will not watch any movies with even partial nudity or bikini clad people. Not because I think nudity is bad, but the context it is shown in movies is usually wrong- not in marriage, etc.

Thus saying, however, I have no problem with what is called Artistic Nudity- photographs or paintings of the nude body in non-sexual poses, shown for the purpose of beauty.
