I had a dream a couple of nights ago that still lingers in my mind.

I have to say this is the first of this kind. I received a written message like an email, but I wasn't at the computer reading the message. The message was just out there, hanging in front of me on a white sheet of paper, somewhat in the middle of the page, 1 paragraph in length. The message felt like it came from a priest friend that used to be my spiritual director. Although I could read the message, the message was being read to me. It almost seems like the message was being read to me as it was being written. The message was that my life would be changing drastically in December of this year.

I've been tempted to ask my friend if he had a dream about me, but haven't yet.

I woke up startled.

Sounds like a vision in a dream, or what some people call a closed vision.

Isn't it gracious of the Lord to give us advance notice of things that are coming to prepare our hearts.

Some questions which may help you think about how this could fit with what the Lord is already doing in your life & the life of your husband & family......

Is there any change that may fit with the normal rhythms of life or what you or your husband have already planned? For example:
- Finishing a study course
- Finishing a contract job
- Plans to move

Is there anything you or your husband have had on your hearts which you would like to launch into eg a particular vocation, ministry or an overseas country?

Are there any key relationships you have that you feel could be developed further, or perhaps person(s) you have met recently that you have really clicked with & felt like you have known them for years. Most or all major changes in our life are anchored around key relationships.

This isn't to try & predict what the Lord will do, but it will help you think forward.

The important thing to remember is that you have nothing to fear from any major change. Jesus is at work in your life for your highest good & he will never leave you or forsake you. (John 10:10, Heb 13:5, Psalm 23)

Hello Third,

When I have these types of dreams/visions, they have literal implications for me. I like FW advice of "thinking foward." Be of great courage -- God is including you on His plans. Meditate more on His agenda for your life -- Jeremiah 29:11: 11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

"thinking foward."

I was just telling someone today how a message like this was helpful in understanding some things that transpired last year.

Trust it, and pray along with it. If God is gracious enough to let you know ahead of time, then He will surely offer help when you ask for it.

A message like this could be helpful if you see potential change about to happen... you can plan properly and stay calm about it.

The words forming as he was speaking gives it a very immediate and unplanned sense.

There will always be free will, within limited choices. I think that God does not always show us details, because He still allows the people involved to make free decisions... while the outcome is change, it is still worth praying about because decisions are still being made.

Eat healthy, depend on God, live simply, keep your support network active, and wear clean socks.

often these are remembered later when it matters.
Do you remember what happened with the OT prophecies about an invasion of Judah? Some of the children of the elite were kidnapped, and brought to Babylon to be raised under the enemy's care.

They were fed well, educated, trained in all sorts of skills. They had to endure the shame of being trapped there, raised to support their enemy. But this is where God came through mightily in the miracles of the lion's den, the fiery furnace, the interpreted dreams, writing on the wall... (in the book of Daniel).

Appreciate the writing on the wall.
I think it might be interesting to ask your friend, if you feel comfortable. Even if he didn't have a related dream, he might know about plans for change, and it would lead to interesting spiritual interaction. He might even need someone to confide in, that believes God speaks through dreams.
