  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okie dokie. I'm not a writer, mind you. But, I do write from time to time. But I never have alone time anymore, which makes it difficult for me.

I wrote this a while back:

The people mutter and
talk amongst themselves

The meaning, they say, is this
The meaning, they say, is that

Muddying up the
waters that were

for bathing

for cleansing

for restoring

Such that no one
could come clean

Words floating
like scum at the top

Then...the Lord said to me
"Simplify. Simplify."

Found it, I did this years ago. Actually it's very different, haha.

It's a strange place to be,
I try to grab on to one thing
When I lose another.
I grab onto something
And *poof* it vanishes
Until there is nothing left
But void and emptiness.
When there is nothing to hold onto
All I can do is fall to the floor...

Maybe on my knees if I am smart enough.
Maybe prostrate on the ground.

It is a strange feeling that settles deep in me,
I try to understand the meaning of humanity
When it's all chaos and wicked people act in their darkness
I try to reach out the broken world around me
And *kaboom* it fires back in my face
Until I am also one of the confused
But it is meaningless and vain.
When there is nothing I can do on my own...
All I can do is reach out to God...

Maybe lift my hands to the Heavens.
Maybe keep my eyes fixed on Him.

This one actually rhymes! (Also done in college)

Emerson, Kant, Poe, and Thoreu,
What on earth do they think they know?

Hitler, Mussolini, Nietsche, and Darwin,
With these philosophies, ya just can't win.

They all have the answers, every last one,
But with all the word's problems, they solve none.

People are people, we are all so dumb.
Nothing but filth and dirt and scum.

We pretend to be great, when really we're not.
Strutting and gloating, not doing what we ought.

So tired of it all, this globe's such a mess.
Only bad news prints hot off the press.

Friends abandon; families are torn,
Everthing to me is sad and forlorn.

So how do I cope with all this around?
By chains of addiction, I cannot be bound.

Must stay above it, I've got to stay free.
Anger can't have a hold on me.

Jesus keep me strong in the midst of confusion,
Don't let me follow some hopeless illusion.

Instead of letting myself fall to demise,
Let me see the world through God's eyes.

I posted some of these in the Womens Forum.
I'm an ink illustrator - and cannot do colour for the life of me! :D

Peace,
Niffer

I love your line work. I'm not very good at drawing. I have a few things that I've done in ink. I found ink with a brush the easiest, plus once it's down you just have to go with it.

I took a color class where we had to use pastels. I hated pastels, they're too messy. I only had one decent piece from that class. I'll upload it once I can get it flat enough to photograph. It's too large for my scanner.

Nice work!

Here is one of my pen and ink wash still life's.

Wow that is really good artwork!! What did you use? Your poem reminds me of one I wrote when I was in college, but I doubt I can dig that up, it would take a lot of searching (computer files).

I used photoshop to manipulate photographs for the image.

I went through a short period of writing. I found it to be very cathartic. Well, actually, both things are. I know what you mean about digging things up. I already had this here in the poetry section, so it was easy to find.

(I like your other one too.)

I'll throw this one into the pot as well.

Poverty

Her face tight and drawn
Purse opened like a yawn
With nothing left to pawn

Across this weighted divide
What will thus provide?
A pain not to subside?

Not able to do the math
Muddy waters are my bath
Justified within his wrath

My dues are shades of gray?
Never to see the light of day?
Oh, so heavily they do weigh.

It's rough, I know. I've been wanting to create an image for it.

It's different, but it shows a similar struggle. Love it, especially the line above.

LOVE it all so far ladies! :) Keep it up!

I wrote this yesterday. The last 72 hours have been really, really life changing for me. This poem is a bit sad, fyi.

No title yet.

Confusion.
Sadness.
Grey thoughts consume my mind.
Black clouds surround my heart.
Doubt.

Darkness.
Fear.
Tears splatter my cheeks.
Light forsakes my path.
Agony.

My life has crashed around me.
Identity, misplaced.
The sky is darkened always,
Not even stars to keep company.

Pain.
Regret.
I know not who I am.
Destiny, forgotten.
Dreams, shattered.
Hopes, stolen.
I am certain of nothing.
Myself.
Alone.

I took a class on color theory that I tried to apply to photography. Below was the most successful of the study of the interaction of colors.

The backdrop on this is a very dark green. The two mums were a lighter green that was "pushed" toward yellow because of the background. The daisy in front was a deep pink that was "pushed" toward red because of the background.

Such fun to experiment with colors.

I cant even figure oout how to paste an image here without making it just an attachment. Lol I guess an attachment will have to do, except Im using my husbands computer right now, lol.

You should have an album in your account. (If your file is too large it will automatically be resized.) Then after uploading it you will see two links you can use. I use the one on the bottom.

That much I know. :)

It's almost my bedtime though. I'll check back in the morning.
